What, switch permanently? And have to deal with shaving my face every day? Ugh. At least as a woman when I don't feel like shaving I can just slap some pants on and go about my day.

Oh, there's a TEMPORARY option? Sure then. Why wouldn't you pick that? It'd be worth just to see what it's like.

Where is the option for "already done it"? As imperfect as the surgery is, hormones matters far more and the way you present affects how others treat you. Meaning that I already have gone through it with worse promises than that. If given the option to turn my body into a 100% XX female body that has not been ravaged by a male puberty then I would not hesitate a moment, my life's big regret is not starting hormones earlier and I am a bit more envious of those who start in their teens than is probably healthy. If given the option to undo all the effects of my hormonal treatment then I would staunchly refuse.

Now to mix things up a bit and add a third option: futanari, completely functional. I suspect that I would go for that option if it existed, get all the parts I want, get the hormones, and still messing with people's heads by merely existing. I kind of have a provocative personality when I am emotionally stable. It is also interestingfrom an transhumanistic viewpoint.

Honestly? yes. Why anyone would choose to female if they had choice in the matter is beyond me unless you really value looking "pretty" or want to have an easier time being a worthless leech. That women are equal to men is the biggest lie I've been feed in my entire life.

Uhhh fuck it. Sure. Then I could take advantage of the women in engineering programs going on in the next few weeks on campus.

Testosterone is directly required for an erection, so thats in the realm of magic unless you use aids like Viagra and Cialis (which is common among trans woman sex workers) and not feasible in reality. Would be cool though, gotta admit that.
Women naturally produce testosterone in their bodies. It is produced in their ovaries and is necessary for them to both function in day to day life and to be able to give birth to male children. So theoretically it is possible for a woman to produce enough testosterone to have an erection.

Men also have trace amounts of estrogen present in their blood but I don't remember if they really get much use out of it. I work in biochemistry not endocrinology.

If it is only temporary I see no downside to it.

Will be interesting to see what it would be like.

"It" will be left to your imagination.

I would, if it were temporary. It seems like an interesting thing to do, almost like holidaying ... in another body.

But I certainly wouldn't want to permanently become a woman. Although I consider internal genitalia to be inherently more convenient, breasts, as nice as they are, don't seem so nice when you are the one who has to cart the damn things around on your chest all day. So I guess it kind of evens out in that regard.
But menstruation seems like a real pain (no pun intended).

Also, procreation seems like a topic of interest. I'm still somewhat unsure whether I should care from a philosophical standpoint about propagating my bloodline, but I lean more on the apathetic side. Even so, I have considered donating sperm, since regardless of how I spread my seed, I certainly don't want to be raising the little wretch.
But being female basically answers the question for me, and the answer is "no fucking way".

I'm reluctant to procreate even when all I have to do is squirt the child into someone else's belly, but if I'm the one who has to push the damn thing back out again nine months later, leaching off my body all the while, then no, not a chance.

Actually because egg donation comes with health risks, they're far less common, increasing their overall value and making egg donation somewhat lucrative.
I'm not very knowledgeable about that sort of thing. Is there a way for a female to have a biological child without it growing inside her?

Well, I honestly don't give two fucks about my gender, so just out of curiosity I'd say yes. At the end of the month, I'd go with whichever I'd end up preferring. Even shot for each, probably.

I'd try it out temporarily.

No way in hell I'd ever make that change permanent, for many reasons already plainly obvious.

Absolutely. Totally weird thing to say but I really despise having a penis and balls. Being male, not so much kinda dig not dealing with back pain from breasts, but the penis and balls are so aggravating.

Nirvana for me would be male with a vagina and like B cup breasts. Male specifically because it means I wouldn't have to deal with periods and cramps, but I wouldn't need to deal with the annoyance of what happens to male anatomy when its 0 degrees outside.

So here is the hypothetical supernatural situation of today. You find an oil lamp and rub it. A genie appears and offers you a reward for breaking an ancient curse and setting him free. Unfortunately the genies powers are very limited and he can only change your gender. However no one around you would notice and will treat you as if you have always been a man/woman. And you have a period of 1 month to go back and tell him you changed your mind.

Personally I would say no. Although it would be an "interesting" experience the downsides are just to big for me. Peeing while standing up would be impossible plus I would have to deal with menstruation and possibly giving birth to a child. Neither of which I have experienced but don't seem very pleasant.

So would you accept his offer?
To turn into a pretty one? Oh, yes. And not just for the reasons you may think. I have my own questions on the subject, as I'm somewhat curious as to how the female mind works. I'm glad to be a guy and all, but there are times where I do ponder about it.

To temporarilly get rid of that thing between my legs that constantly hurts me if I so much as move and looks disgusting, in place of genitals that never interfere with tasks requiring the lower body AND look prettier than I already do?!

WHEN? PREFERABLY NOW, PLS.

Temporarily? Sure. It would be a good experience to have, and probably increase my empathy. Or at least put an end to any argument that pivots on "You have no idea what it's like to be a woman."

Nah, I wouldn't go for it. Women have to go through pains that I do not envy them for. Because to protect the dangly parts located in one place and easily-defended than to have to worry about that. Ladies, you have my respect for having to bear the pain you do.

Now then...can I get the genie to do that to other people instead?
