Hi guys, I'm Glass Joe, and to make short of a long story, I'm a man, but I wish I was female (or more accurately, I feel like I should be).

I've felt this way for quite a while, and it's not a matter of sexual orientation, nor is it a case of "hurr durr I wanna grope myself and get free drinks." I simply feel like I would be much more comfortable with myself in the body of a woman. As of now, I can only go online to talk about it because I'm a high schooler in the middle of not-exactly-open-minded Texas, but I hope that one day I'll be able to make the change provided the technology is there and society learns to be accepting.

But enough about me, I want to know if anyone else desires the same sort of thing. I know people are skeptical of surgical gender alterations, but let's say for the sake of discussion that a magic, biologically altering wizard comes to you and offers to change your sex completely for a certain amount of time. Would you take the offer, and if you did, how long would you want to switch, and why?

And if there are any transsexuals on the forums of any kind, I'd love to hear testimonials, stories or advice from people. :)

Well I don't know, on one hand I'm happy as I am and have no problem with who I am, but on the other hand it would be interesting to see the world from a fresh new perspective, considering I've always been curious as to how other people see the world, and this would be somewhat close to getting to see the world from another perspective, I think I would change for a year maybe, just to see the world from another perspective, it would probably help me appreciate myself even more, so yeah maybe.
Though I'm only saying that because just yesterday I was so bored with how I view the world that I was wondering if that would change if I was a girl, but that only popped into my mind because my friend says that I act more like a girl than a guy, regarding sex and all that, apparently girls are the ones that avoid the topic, a little odd considering how she is, I mean she's not exactly subtle about her tastes in sex, in fact every time we're watching something on TV she's like "he's hot" and when I play Batman Arkham Asylum she's practically drooling over the TV, but I guess that doesn't have much to do with the topic....
[sub]According to her, my mother and my sister, I'd be a hot girl... kind of odd, that they all told me this on different occasions, *sigh* they are all so annoying.[/sub]

Yeah that'll probably be my reason for changing as well.
Sadly being a man I have no clue how the female body works so when periods come along I'll probably forget what they are and think I have an internal injury and start screaming and running in circles.

Hmm, both genders have disadvantages and advantages in both the biological and the cultural/society departments.

What it comes down to for me is "hell no im not going through pregnancy"

Then again, i am not exactly ENTHRALLED about the prospect of being present/witnessing for when the baby comes out of my significant other.

Yes, I would change my sex permanently. If I were male I could become fairly muscular without being generally considered strange or unattractive, and it would also be easier. I wouldn't have to put nearly as much effort into maintaining my appearance merely to look socially acceptable. I wouldn't have to bleed out of my privates on a regular basis.

I'd give it a shot, but I suspect I'd end up wanting to change back to a man before too long.

For a while just to see what it's like.

Despite what idealistic "libertarians" think, men and women are different. There are differences in their needs and wants, in the way they react to things, in their goals in life. It would be interesting to experience the other side of the coin for a bit.

This is something I've been working towards for the better half of 4 years.
So my answer is pretty obviously yes.

Yeah for a day or two because you know... boobs. Being a girl sucks though with the whole period and having to make yourself look good stuff.

Nah simply because I'm happy as I am and I feel my gender suits me.

I don't believe any gender has life easier or harder than the other.

Not permanently, but like others I don't think I'd mind looking at the world from another perspective for a while.

And as hot as I am there's no question that I'd make a really hot girl. So hah.

OP: You may be transgender, so it might be worth talking to a medical professional about it.

Anyway, I wouldn?t mind magically being transformed into a woman for a week, just to see what it?s like. I always like to embrace fresh perspectives on life. I mean, yeah, chances are, because I?m attracted to women, I?d probably spend most of my days dressing up (I actually do have a trans fetish), masturbating, and trying to get laid by other women, but it?d still be an educational experience to test, so to speak, other people?s reactions.

It would be fun to have boobs and be able to wear skirts but I would expect I would want to change back eventually.

Well I quite like my gender as is, however I think it'd be fascinating to get a trial run as the opposite. So if I had established guidelines like 'change back after 2 weeks' then sure I'd change it.

Without firsthand experience I can't say for certain whether I'd like it to be permanent.
