Poll: Would you consider selling the escapist?

Okay, so I was just browsing around the web and I stumbled upon a website that lets you find out the monetary value of a website (in dollars). As well as being able to find out where it's server is located, how much money are made off of ads everyday and even how many page views there are..

So I typed in the escapist and found;

What I find the most interesting is the monetary value of the escapist which is right around $525,101 USD. What's even more striking is that it's ranked #3,733 on the Alexa ranking system which has a few hundred thousand sites listed. Considering all of these figures if you owned the Escapist, would you sell it?

Personally I wouldn't sell it; even when it reached over a million dollars in worth, because I would hate to have the site be changed drastically and or closed down by the new owner.

Oh would I sell it, Hell no The Escapist holds a personal value to me that can't be put in a monetary value.

I wouldn't sell somthing like that its a achevment and a important piece of what would/will be your legacy after you died somthing to show for yourself when you are no longer living

See, if I owned this site, I would continually run it as a business. If I were to just sell it and be done with it, I would be out of money quicker than you'd think. With the Escapist, I could continually make money as a business, and it seems like the Escapist's business is booming right now. Now would be a very, very bad time to sell this place.

I'd rather a moderate amount now than a lot over a long period of time. I don't have the pa- Ooo, shiny!

Nah, I would make it grow. Remember that one tv network on cable that used to be about games (and used to be good)? I can't remember the name of it but I would try to get the escapist into something like that. Maybe not on TV, as my demographic probably doesn't watch tv as much as they are on the internet, but I would try to get more shows on maybe a livestream and have timeslots and whatnot. Have Anime, Ninja Warrior (the last pinnacle of interest from that network), maybe some liveplays. Have a feed dump every once in a while. Maybe some quotes from ZP just to spice things up. Plus I'd have to get some of the contributors to make some half hour tv shows. Man, I would totes do that.


Too bad it will NEVER happen. But a man can dream though... a man can dream.

I love the escapist too much to sell it. I can't imagine new ownership would benefit it more than what it has right now. As a website by gamers, for gamers it succeeds and it should remain true to that formula.
