I love America. Best country in the world. I just love living more. In the highly unlikely event of another draft, I would be in Canada so fast my head would be spinning.

I'm more likely to shoot myself cuz of my country :p
In short no, I may be a lot of things, but a patriot I'm not.

Without a moments hesitation.

As long as a single American citizen is left alive, I'll die defending them.

I dont think id HAVE to die for my country. Our government is so pants soilingly wimpy that if any other country were to even LOOK at us aggressively we'd immediately start doing our damndest to make amends so we wouldnt have to fight.

Unless America goes to war in which case we'll blindly follow along behind them because we are a bunch of sheep.

To clarify i live in Canada.

Depends on why I need to die for it. I'll defend it from something that's willing to kill the people I care about, or at least degrade and oppress them. I'm less willing to fly to another country and get shot at simply because a man in a uniform said I was doing it for my country.
Besides, a little bit of patriotism is nice, but when it gets out of hand, it's destructive and can cloud the mind. My allegiance doesn't lie with any country, but with the people I care about. Everything else is just geography.

Although, that said, my country gave me a kick-ass British accent and Jammie Dodgers. I would fight for Jammie Dodgers. Or Refreshers. Or Freddos.

An when everybody is dead there will be know country left. I prefer "would you survive for your country." Like with soldiers, they may pledge to give their life for their country, but i would prefer them to survive war and come back alive and intact.

I would not die for my country. It's kinda crappy and it's ruled by morons and incompetents.

As for why I don't leave, where would I go? It's not that easy to just move away. How would I afford to? And I do have my whole life here, which isn't bad.

I wouldn't die for my country, but I would die for my friends and family, for the people I love. And they are all here, so I'm sticking around as well.

So what would everyone who says no do if their country was invaded? Run and hide? Accept the occupation?

What invasion?

There should be plenty of soldiers dying for the country to ensure that doesn't happen. If an invasion happened, one person wouldn't have made a difference.

And being alive is always better than being dead. Invaded or not.

Would you die for your country? It's pretty straight-forward.

For me yes. If your not willing to die for it, then why live there? You obviously don't love it there very much.
I live in my country becuase it`s easier to live there. And i plan on keeping on living. I wouldn`t give my life for a piece of land.

I live for the sake of living, no matter what it takes.

A possible invasion. This is a hypothetical discussion.

There should be, but what if there were not? What if there were not enough to defend the country?

It depends on what circumstances you were alive in.

OP: You are taking death way too easy.
Tell me you've actually stared it in the eyes a few times, because I don't believe you have.
So you don't know what you're saying...

And hey, think about your loved ones, who get to spend the rest of their lives without you.
But! It was for your country, which loves you so huggy-muggy much!
The country won't care, I can assure you.

How many times do you think about actual people that have died for your country?

Well then what if you decided to give your life for your country and there was an invasion anyway?

Would that make a difference in the grand scheme of things? Probably not.

It's a matter of urgency. If there was a strong probability that another country was prepared to invade, I'd probably sign up to fight.

If it's just to fight some war, why bother?

If it came down to brass tacks and it was absolutely necessary for me to do so then yes I would but I'm not going to go out of my way to try and do so. I'd much rather fight and try to preserve my own life for my country than die for it. The "die for your country" statement doesn't necessarily mean for your country specifically, it means for the people and liberties you love in your country like family and the right to own firearms, at least that's how I interpret it.

Then you die in vain.

Did you vote yes in the poll then? You could die in the fighting.

Don't get me wrong, I'm against war and violence and would never join the military, but I would still try to defend my home.
