Yep all you need is a time machine for that. Well, that or a plane ticket to the canary islands.

Wouldn't someone looking at you change the world slightly, as before you wouldn't have been there so they wouldn't have looked at you, altering the timeline of the world slightly.

No way. I'm way too careless to do that. I'd probably come back to a world where giant insects rule the world.

Incidentally it was the first world war that was trench warfare (1914-18) but that's irrelevant.
I was thinking of pointing that out but decided not to, you did it for me though.

I think in that situation curiosity would get the better of me. I'd probably regret my decision straight away but it's not something I could say no to.

Didn't think about it that way.

Yeah, travelling back in time would wreak immense changes on history, even if you didn't change anything "significant". It's the Butterfly Effect.

On the other hand, diverging timelines is no more than a hypothesis... I have an irrational preference for single-universe models, paradox-ridden though they may be. Though it's a moot point as time travel is probably impossible. (Pet peeve: Science will never make everything possible. The universe obeys certain immutable laws. Yes, our ideas have been proven wrong in the past, but the whole point is that as we progress we gets closer and closer to the truth.)

OT: You bet I would. Well, I'd think about it a lot first. I've got a lot to live for here. But damn, I'm not going to live forever, so I want to know What Happens Next. I'd do it several times if I could.

Immortality would be better, though.

It would suck. Naked among strangers? Nope. Not for me. Naked among strangers, even future strangers, would suck.

Times change; humans don't. And they would all laugh at me...

But a time machine sends you only through TIME (TIME machine), not space, so you'd still have to get to an interesting place with nice weather and a beach so you could get a good tan. I mean, haven't you seen Back to the Future Behind the Scenes?!

I'd only do it if I could go back in time and see if Jesus was a madman or just a guy with loving messages to the world or really the son of God.

If time travel was possible.. Dont you think someone in the future would have invented it and traveled back in time so that we would know about it?
Unless new, parallel timelines are created when someone travels through time.

Besides, if someone came back from the future, would anyone really believe them? No.
People would believe them if they had the timetravelig device with them and could show people it worked!
