Maybe. More of a "hey, this peasant shit is bullshit, Imma go join the crusades" type.

I had for most of my youth a serious wanderlust. I did not live in one place for more than a year for the most part so yeah I'd likely take up with a sailing ship and explore for a new world were I to have been born in that time.

i would probably have been the girl who made herself look like a guy just so i could be an adventurer. if i was stuck in royalty i would have been the princess who ran away to find adventure lol.

i would totally be willing to be in the first wave of explorers to a new land.

Most certainly, exploring and shooting native Indians is a most worthy pursuit for a seventeenth century British gentleman.

I can just see Columbus and I having a chat:
C "join the crew for an epic journey?"
I "where to?"
C "the world is round you see so I'm going to the indias by heading WEST!"
I "how long will this take?"
C "well we have no idea how big the world is."
I "so I join the crew and either we fall off the edge of the world or die from a choice of malnutrition, a lack of drinking water, bad weather, sea monsters, pirates, mutiny, violent currents, beaching, icebergs."
C "well, we might find a whole new continent just over the horizon!"
I "sling yer hook, nut-job"

I'm definately an explorer at heart so I'd have my name first on the list. But because I'm not an idiot I'd only do it if I was the captain, or at the very least chart man... Less moldy biscuits, and more rum. Makes sense to me...

I think my favourite ship of all time to go exploring in would have to be the Millenium Falcon followed closely by the President's ship from HitchHikers guide to the galaxy... Improbabillity drive or holo chess? It's a tough call...

It's easy to say you're adventurous when video games allow you to go on epic quests and dangerous missions without even getting dressed in the morning, but I'm a coward at heart. So no.

I would love to have done that. Obviously it's an endlessly romantic notion, and the realities would be nowhere near as fun as you think, but just the feeling of making landfall on a continent no one back home has any notion of existing, let alone having heard of it fills me with excitement.

I'm toying with the idea of joining the Merchant Navy in a few years; the idea of setting off onto the ocean for days on end is a glorious one to me, and it's as close as I can get these days :p

My family history is rife with sailors, and I'm probably going to join the Navy the first chance I get, so yeah, I would be an adventurer.

Well, in your scenario my answer is a big, fat NO!!!

However, if you changed the situation to one where there is magic and swords and stuff and I was raised to use both, and there were fantastial monsters to fight and I was searching for an ancient artifact of great power which is hidden in an uneplored land ... then the answer would be yes as long as there aren't lots of mosquitoes and flies.

I'll keep that in mind for future polls, haha.

So North America hasn't been discovered yet and you have the option of going sailing with a crew to go see whats out past the horizon. Do you?

I would like to say I would have, but probably not in the first wave of explores. I'd have waited to see what they find first.
Dude!!! Screw Adventurer... I'm gonna be a Conquestador!!!!
