KOTOR 3, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate TOR.

I feel that BioWare can still make KOTOR 3. The game that'll tie up the open-ended nature of TOR, perhaps. That'd be awesome.

I couldn't stand the abysmal combat in KoTOR and the only MMO that interests me is Eve. So, neither?
Why even come into this thread then? just want to up your post count and be contrary?
The thread asked for my opinion and I gave it. That's the point of a forum.
It asked which you would prefer, not which you would dislike more.
It asked what I would prefer, and I said neither. Completely valid response to the question,
Look, it's pretty obvious that the thread is for discussion about ToR and KoToR, and if all you do is come in and spew hate, that's hardly going to make for a good discussion is it?
You're overreacting. I didn't "spew hate", I expressed my mild dislike of the games in question. You need to realise that I am well within my rights to do so and all you have to do is not read my comment. Not that hard.

Well, I guess it is now that you've all quoted me 12 times and spread my comment throughout the thread. Nice job shooting yourselves in the foot with that one.
Saying the gameplay is abysmal is not mild dislike....
One aspect of the game, a trifle, if you will. Also, exaggeration is a method of rhetoric.
The combat is more than a trifle, it accounts for the majority of the time spent playing the game. Even if the story is what makes the game shine, you have to get through the combat to play it. and about the exaggeration being a method of rhetoric? look back to what you are saying that about.... maybe I was exaggerating about the spewing hate? I hardly think you are on a par with 4chan or the WBC.
Right, so what you're saying is that:

a) You get exaggeration and understand it's place in discussion
b) And you hardly believe I was spewing hate at all

So, just what points were you arguing with me then? Because if you understand exaggeration and mentally tune it down to fit the subject matter you should have no issue with my original comment.
Let me fix that for you.

a) You get exaggeration and understand it's place in discussion
b) And you hardly believe I was spewing hate at all, but you do think that I am coming into a thread which is clearly for people who enjoyed the games and insulting a key aspect of it.

Alright, there's a problem with that. Preference, or the the word in the title of the thread, has nothing to do with liking something. Let me give you an example.

Would you prefer to be burnt alive, or be crushed in a trash compactor? Both options are clearly sub-optimal.

Furthermore, combat is frequently cited as the worst part of KoTOR. So the words "insulting a key aspect of it" don't really seem that appropriate do they? Hell, even the word "insult" isn't accurate either. It's an honest assessment.

Trust me, LucasArts aren't offended by my thoughts on their game, they're big boys now.

KOTOR3 by Obsidian plz. I loved the other two, and without a shitty deadline I'm sure they could have made something great. That wasn't an MMO.

I would have preferred KoTOR3 made by Bioware with less oversight than the first game.

Just my 2 credits.

You talk about preference and then say the combat is bad as fact? I won't say it's great, but I enjoy it, and I'm sure a lot of people do. This has nothing to do with LucasArts, and your condescending tone is just pissing me off, so congratulations, you win your internet battle, +1 E-peen.

I want Bioware to make the game, but I want Obsidian to write it.

Seriously, the game wasn't even finished and its the best experience with star wars i've ever had.

Yes..Please yes. We need KOTOR III, not this atrocity that EA's spurted into our faces.

this is our elevator, there is a fee of 20 credits!

OT: definitely a joint venture between obsidian and bioware (obsidiware?) for kotor 3, i might have jizzed in my pants having that game in my hand.

not to put to fine a point on it, but I would have liked for KOTOR 2 to have been completed rather then the half assed release we got.

*+5 Dark Side points*

OT: I notice that most people seem to really want KoTOR 3 to be made. Developers, pay attention!

Although I voted for TOR by bioware (because obsidian's would be a bugged hellish nightmare that would doom the game immediately), if they were to make a KoToR 3, I'd pick obsidian over bioware anyday.

Bioware's stories are shockingly clichéd and dull for the most part. All of them. Basically they're the storyline from Zelda OOT but with more talking.

The only thing I see in this thread is anti-BioWare backlash most likely from TOR, and rose-colored glasses fueled by nostalgia for Obsidian.

While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I have yet to see Obsidian actually make a good video game. KOTOR 2, NWN 2, and Alpha Protocol were all abominations. I haven't played their Fallout game so maybe that was good.

The only thing I can agree that KOTOR 2 did well was present a storyline that tried to go deeper into the vagaries of the Force and what it meant to be a Jedi/Sith more than any other Star Wars material produced to date. I gave the game props for that.

The rest was such a huge disappointment. My, how the passage of time can alter perceptions. Seven years ago you couldn't find anyone that wanted Obsidian to do a KOTOR 3. Today they are the preferred developer to do one.

People are lemmings.

Easily would have prefered KOTOR 3 since I am not a fan of MMOs. This game looked pretty good and I may of bought it if it wasn't for three things.
1. It would brutally murder my computer
2. It would require me to install Origin
3. Monthly subscriptions ewwwwww
