I would give it back if the owner called or find a lost in found or somthing. I don't need a phone anyways pulse it seems evil to erase all those phone numbers and leave her without way to contacte her friends or famliy without haveing to use a payphone, which are almost non-existence anymore.

I believe in Kharma, because I once found an Ipod and returned it, and then I won one in the school raffle...
So I'd have returned it...
Th-that isn't how Karma works...
Isn't it?

My understanding is that it affects your current life AND future reincarnations, but I'm not some master on other cultural beliefs, so excuse me if I'm in correct. Please correct me.

I would've tried to give it back. In fact I remember when I was very young we went on a trip somewhere (I can't remember for the life of me). I bought along my cherished teddy bear which I'd had since birth and unfortunately left it there. But thanks to the good of the people at the place they'd traced it after my mother in an attempt to get back the un-replaceable bear called and a week or so after we'd gotten back I still remember jumping for joy when I'd gotten my precious Jake (That's his name) back. Thankfully I'm alot more careful and since then I've always realized that you should always try to return lost property, it's just the right thing to do. Oh and on a positive side note that little bear sits safely on my bed to this day.

EDIT: Shit I clicked the wrong poll option. I saw yes I would and I thought it was for giving it back.

The way people who believe that describe it to me, it only affects the future reincarnations. I'm not entirely sure, but these are, like, ten different people and none of them really know each other as far as I know. I'm probably wrong though. :p

It's great that pretty much everyone is saying the exact same thing, because this is exactly what you should've done - either hand it in at the casino, or hand it in to someone later on. Going to this much effort is as bad as taking it out of her pocket yourself.

Honestly, I think what you did was kind of shitty; apparently this person "couldn't get home without the phone" - that could mean a multitude of things, but one thing is for certain - you SHOULD HAVE GIVEN IT BACK. Anyway, that's what I would have done. I'd feel tremendously guilty if I hadn't.

One time I found an Iphone in the seat pocket in front of me on a plane. My dad and I found the person and mailed it too him. He wrote a letter back thanking us for it and said that we restored a bit of his hope for good people. Suffice to say; It made me happy panda

I'd have either just let it be on the floor, or taken it to the lost and found.

While you prolly can't find teh owner yourself, with so many people, the owner woudl prolly check the lost and found.

Your cousin seems to let greed pwn morale.

I would have kept it with me until I got the text tell her to meet me somewhere(like by the front desk), and given it back before kicking my cousins ass for trying to ve a selfish prick

Whenever I find stuff, I bring it to a nearby lost & found or at least the nearest reception desk or whatever.
I can't be bothered to look for the person who lost it but I don't just keep it, either.

I would have given it back, or at least returned it to lost and found. Mobile phones are useless anyway when found, since you dont have the charger and ones it happens to deactivate you cant use it anymore since you dont know the password. That, and they are not exactly expensive to get anymore, so I dont really see the value of a found phone.

if I were you, when your cousin handed the phone to me, I'd have ran off with it and given it to lost and found. Then probably punched your cousin cus that's illegal. & If I was the person who lost it, I'd have punched your cousin as well.

I'd probably lift (steal) it from my associate who wants to keep it, call the person, find them, explain what your friend/cousin did without naming names (hell, I'd just say I found it and feign confusion and non-involement when she discovers things have been deleted)

As for the cousin, what's she/he gonna do? Repremand you for getting rid of hot (criminal) goods with no repruccussions to either of you?

I'm quite a manipulative person in this way. I will slide to fix things withotu direct responsibility.

Your cousin is a thieving *****, you're no better for assisting her in the matter. You should be fucking ashamed of yourselves.

Well, seeing as I currently have no phone, I'd like to have one even if I don't use it. It's the girls' fault for dropping anyway.
The girls' fault for dropping anyway... so nothing's ever fallen out of your pocket then?

Congratz on lacking a spine. So your cousin forced you into deleted the memory, didn't you even question that or realise what it would mean? You just stole a phone, pure a simple. The owner even goes and texts you, but you damage their property and keep it for yourselves, even when it's clear they need it to simply get home. Don't go by that foolish rule of finders keepers, it was still their property and you could of returned it at no loss (You could have been given a reward if they were greatful, but that shouldn't be your motive).

I'm sorry but you're a fucking idiot in my definition, you say you've had your own phone stolen, but you think it's fair game to do it to someone else? What a dick.
