Only if I knew it would die instantly. I don't want to cause it any pain. But yeah I would. I wouldn't even do it for money. That would make me seem like a greedy bastard.

I kicked the roommate's cat a couple days ago. Does that count?

This cat (It's name is Naboo...The roommate is a huge Star Wars nerd) hates people. Like, about as much as the sun would hate having water poured on it. She only wants people around on her schedule, and when she's done with you, her preferred way of letting you know is teeth. Even if you were caving to one of her "Pet me!" moments.

Anyway, the cat jumped up into my lap, head-butted my nose and gave me a nosebleed. And then she clawed me when my cry of pain scared her.

I didn't kick her hard...Just enough to scare her out of my way on my run to the bathroom.

Anyway, no. I wouldn't kick that puppy for 15 bucks, not if it had to be hard enough to hurt it. I might if I just had to toe it.

Hell no...
I hate dogs, but I couldn't bring myself to intentionally hurt animals [unless in a self-defence situation], and whoever says they would deserves to be given a good ol'kick themselves...

So there was a topic recently about eating intelligent pigs, and apparently people like the taste of bacon more than they like the idea of not eating rational creatures.
More like rashernal creatures, amirite?

Frankly, we have to talk about how heavy this puppy is, because I'm not breaking a toe for such a small amount of money. Also, I need to be assured that the RSPCA or the police aren't getting involved.

Then we can talk.

$5 is a pathetically small amount of money that i piss away daily. $15 is the same.

Make it $1500 and we'll talk.

What i won't tell you is that the puppy i picked had to be put down anyway, and before i kicked it, it was put under.

15$? bugger that. Give me 40 POUNDS and you got a deal!
Yeah but other than my terrible evil, corruptible self, I can understand the reasons NOT to kick a puppy, then again there are worse evils in the world and it'll mean it's more likely to get a new better owner if it's been harmed in the past 'it's last owner kicked him when he was young' and everyone would be like d'aaww I wanna adopt him and feel sorry for him for the rest of it's poor likkle life, so in the end I'm actually doing it a favor if you think about it - it'll just end up on some foreign restaurant plate otherwise.

Oh and if it's a chiwawa I will do it for you for half price, some things aren't meant to be in nature.

15 bucks...i don't do shit for anyone for 15 bucks. Also regarding your inpsiration for the thread, pigs don't have thumbs so it doesn't matter how smart they are (not to mention bacon is awesome).

Why kick the puppy when I could just knock you out and steal all your cash?

And I wouldn't kick That puppy. Maybe an ugly little terrier dog with rabies... But not that one.

I really don't care that you think animals have intelligence (witch they don't they have instinct nothing more)but by your logic even the ones we eat should have intelligence and killing them should be wrong. no its not for food its for money think about all the food that goes to waste in the US. you gonna cry about that to? kicking a dog is like kicking a brick the only reason you might not do it is because you could hurt your foot. don't let the cuteness of a puppy stir up your emotions and cloud your logic.(and yes I do think puppy's are cute)you clearly place the idea of a dog higher then me, and instead of using logic to try and win your argument you go around trying to insulting/hurt me. make better choices become a wise person kill the animals save the babies!
Have you ever worked with animals? have you had pets and actually paid attention to them? If you have then you would know that they are capable of intelligence and more than just instinct. My parents are vets and I have been surrounded by animals my whole life, I KNOW first-hand that they are not stupid. They observe, they learn, they think, they feel. I agree, not to the degree humans do, but that does not make them devoid of intelligence.

Yes, the ones we eat can be intelligent, but they are killed for food, for something we need to survive, and they would not be there if we did not need them for food. Cows and pigs would not exist in the numbers they do were it not for us using them for food.

But when an animal is hurt or killed when it is not necessary, then my blood boils, it is unnecessary suffering and pain on the part of a creature that has done NOTHING to you. Especially a dog, they are raised as friends and family among people, and then out of the blue it gets this treatment because some jerk wants $15? That is sick.

Human beings are creatures of emotion. Any one who never makes a decision based on emotion is either still an infant or a psychopath. People who will do anything for their own gain without considering the pain the cause are widely considered to be psychopathic.

I place the dog higher than you because the dog didn't give you permanent injury for $15 dollars. It has no malicious intent, no greed, you do. Based on that, who should I put higher on the ladder? You have also implied that I am not using logic, which is insulting, and possibly true: I am being caring, not cold and logical, because that is what makes a decent person, being caring and having a little thing called empathy. You know, understanding the pain of other's and that they indeed do feel it and do suffer, animals included.

Causing suffering for your own good is greed. Causing suffering that is not necessary is cruelty. Causing suffering and not caring, not even thinking of the sufferer as a being deserving anything better is borderline evil.
Should I really think of you, someone who is saying that given this situation, they would be cruel, greedy and evil over a puppy that is innocent and has done nothing wrong to you?

make better choices become a wise person kill the animals save the babies!
Now you are just trolling me.

You know why I would kick the person?
Because they should understand that what they did was wrong and greedy. They have potentially ruined this puppy's life with serious injury (that can be up to 15 years of suffering, and for a dog that is always loyal to a good owner, and lives to enjoy life and run full speed ahead all the time, a crippling injury is as bad as it gets) for $15 F---ing dollars?

The person was a greedy bastard and deserves to get the kick in return, the puppy does not know greed, evil, right or wrong. Animals don't understand these concepts, we do. But that does not make them stupid, it does not make them unable to feel pain, unable to suffer or understand that it is getting hurt by the one who kicked it.

So just because you have an advantage in size and intelligence you should injure and take advantage of this puppy to get, of all things, richer?

Humans are always more beautiful than stupid dogs?
Humans can be cruel, evil, greedy and many more. Animals are pure, they do not understand, or need to understand these things, and to injure one for such a trivial reason just goes to show that you are, at the very least, greedy and slightly uncaring.
How people treat animals is a good indicator of how they would treat other people if they had such an advantage over them, it shows how caring you are to those lower in the pecking order than yourself. And from this I can say that I am glad you have no power over me.

I bolded the part of his argument that really has weight against any possible reasoning you could lobby for hurting an animal for no just reason. Survival is a different matter entirely. $5 or $15 is a stupid reason to seriously hurt anything; whether it's an animal or person is irrelevant.

You're also reading far too much into his statements. Nowhere did he say that animals possessed intelligence. On the other hand, they do, just not in the same capacity as we do. They're primarily instinctual, but look no further than the way a lot of carnivores hunt for some good examples of animal intelligence at work. Just because we operate on a completely different level, does not mean animals are devoid of all intelligent thought.
And really, who are the stupid ones? We trudge to work every day to keep a roof over their heads, put food in their bowls, and just generally love the ever-living out of them. Sure, they're loyal, and they love you, and Mr. Whiskers is just so adorable, but that's a pretty one-sided deal. Especially when it comes time to clean the litter box/back yard.
Okay, you have quoted that entirely wrong, you put MY statement in his quote! Please, fix it naow, I make good argument, you bold it, and THEN put it in the wrong person's quote. Thank-you for acknowledging what I said, but PLEASE fix it, I feel desecrated an insulted when this happens.

Sorry to sound irritated, But I just cannot stand this other person's rather... evil view. And thank-you for recognising that, I'm just... irritated by said AlexNora right now.

And yet, I am a soulless bastard. I just love dogs.

F*ck that, I'm petting that puppy and telling the person who offered the money to go to hell. Seriously, why would you do that?!
