Same response I gave in the other thread. Not for my country, but for some of the people in it.

Blindly? No. If it was for a truly known betterment of the country's safety? Yes. If it's to save lives, I don't care what country it is so long as it is a country that can warrant it.

Well I just really REALLY want to kill so... I'd kill for an excuse to get away with killing.

If it came to it? Hell yes I would. I lack the physical fitness and dis-attachment to my hair to join the Army or Royal Marines, but I have relatives serving and muchos respect to anyone serving as long as they don't end up torturing prisoners or some shit like that.

Would I kill for my country during war?... Depends. Who are we fighting and did we start it? If we did, then no. If not, then yes, I'd gladly kill for Queen and Country, but not in the Army. Soldiers are silly. (I really dislike them, no offence)

I think my time would be better spent organising concentration camps and mass graves for the chavs of Great Britain. Killing them off would be a huge service to the country. Hopefully I shall be knighted for my efforts.

Depends. Killing "innocents", no. If not innocent, how ever as many as it would take.
Basically this. If the target has ever taken action against me or mine, I would not think twice about putting a bullet in their skull. Otherwise, I would be adverse to the idea.

Ha! fer the amount of distrust in our government right now nearly everyone seems to be feeling there is no way id willingly enlist to die fer a war outside of our own borders. but im not so bad that if anyone laid a foot on our home soil id be waiting and willing to do what needs to be done. Why die overseas so old men can just get richer?

I love this country, but I would draw the line between patriotism and dying pointlessly. If the invading force was one that would truly upset the way I live, although I'm unlikely to know that, I might not take arms. Also there's the whole point of whether or not I think my country is in the right in the conflict.

Generally I would take up arms to protect what I keep dear. To be honest, if I'd been born in late 1800's, I probably would have signed up for the first World War.

In some kind of Red Dawn situation I might consider joining some sort of defensive militia.

There are wars that I can imagine fighting with zeal enough to kill and die for, but none of them have anything to do with nationalism, religion, or government, and I don't think any of them are likely to occur.

By the time the causes I'd fight for become hotly contested issues, I expect the resistance to them to already be hopelessly overwhelmed.

If we got it invaded, bring it on. Otherwise, no go. I'd rather fight knowing that I'm directly protecting my family/other citizens, don't entirely trust the government in certain situations.

No, I have no allegiance to a government. Unless the Queen of england is willing to knight me, make me MI 6, and call me 007.

I don't really know if I could take a life in service of my country, or any country for that matter. It doesn't matter how you look at it, you're still killing someone. For all I know, the person I have to kill doesn't want to be there just as much as I do. But, if it was in the best interest of me and those who were close to me, then I might be able to kill. Would I come out of it unchanged? Not a chance. I'm pretty sure the act would stay with me for a long time.
