Poll: Would you leave the Escapist if Zero Punctuation was discontinued ?

Staying on a forum is all due to it's user base, sure the excellent videos like ZP bring in the people originally, but I stay for the discussions and all the other great features too.

I may be sad to see Yahtzee go, but it wouldn't stop me using the site at all.

Nope, some time ago I realized that the main attraction of this site are the forums.

I'd have to agree whole-heartedly with Lyx, it's true, ZP attracts us in, personally, when i first arrived i watched pretty much all of ZP, it's something new, different from most other reviews.

And it's true, if ZP were to be cut (A tragedy if it were to come to pass) then you'd see a drop in new traffic, which means less people exploring the site, which means less word of mouth, and right there you have the start of a downward spiral of sorts, maybe not so dramatic, but still, it'd be there.

Oh, and would i leave if ZP was cut? No, but i'd certainly visit less often

There are still other videos that are being posted every week day and there would still be the forums, so I would stay but I would probably not stay on for so long.

ZP is the gateway drug that brings us all here.

It would need to be replaced by something equally as iconic in order to survive, but once you're here, you're kinda stuck here

Oh, I remember the days of Doomsday Arcade a year ago, which was the best show at the time. When it finished, many thought of leaving, until Extra Credits started to show up, and we just stay. If Zero Punctuation left, it would be saddening, but another video series will simply show up and calm the masses.

I honestly think that any new members on The Escapist should watch the whole series of Doomsday Arcade when they sign up, so they can see part of the history here that was pretty amazing not too long ago.

Its quite funny most of the times, but its far from being the holy grail. There are at least 6 shows and series of articles i like as much or better here. Plus the forums.

Possibly. I still mostly watch the videos (and use the bar on the side to look at interesting threads on the forums). Unskippable is funny most of the time, but I have a soft spot for trash-talking Brit-Aussie that would make me follow him to whatever website he set up shop at next.

Zero Punctuation brought me here, but it's not the only reason I stay. The Escapist would suffer for losing it, but there's still MovieBob, Extra Credits and Top 5 to keep me coming back.

And the forums of course.

No, I would still stay for Extra Credits, MovieBob, March Mayhem, the forums, the news and the weekly issues.

But if it weren't for Zero Punctuation, I wouldn't have gotten here in the first place. And I will be sad when the show comes to an end.

I don't see a point for staying, I mean...
There is nothing here other then ZP that is of decent quality, I tried looking around but the best I could find is watching 5 loser porn-stars playing D&D for 3 hours, I find a recorded match of lawn bowls too be more fascinating.

Yes this place has forums but forums can be only entertaining while your motivated to stay, but after that... well... you know the rest, do you still visit any of your old forums and websites you did when its interest died? no.

Same deal, what is your anchor holding you here? Mine is ZP and I just visit to watch the vidz.

That and Game Dogs were probably the worst shows on the escapist. Loading Ready Run and Extra Credits are probably the best shows here in my opinion.

Only reason I recently discovered the Escapist was because of a link to ZP on another site. If they shut it down now I'd probably never return - can't for sure say that will be my oppinion in a month or two though =p

A bit of friendly advice - check out NameGame and Critical Miss, those are fairly popular webcomics that the escapist hosts, if you're into that kinda thing.

OT: I'm staying. In it for the long hall. And, like I said in the other thread, I came here from DM of the Rings, so it isn't like I owe it all to ZP.

Nah i wont...there's a lot of interesting stuff here, extra credits, movie bob and these forums etc. besides this is one place people seem to put up VALID arguments and and interesting news. so i dont think i'll leave if ZP was discontinued
