I'd make like Wendy Carlos and sue their soulless asses. If I'm going to be famous, I might as well be rich too. Then use that money to do some things I'd like to do.

Generally, yes, although it'd vary depending on what sort of song it was (although you did say "pop star" in the post,so the option of having rap beef is maybe ruled out) and what traits of mine were being derided - a song that paints a picture of me as a villain would be much better than a song that depicts me as pathetic, for instance.

If it works for Ned Flanders, it can work for me.

...doodly oodly.

I think it'd be amusing. Unless it was specifically calling for my death or something.

Attacked in song, I can take. Attacked when I'm shopping for underwear? Not so much.

If it's a modern pop star that has something against me, there are a lot of people who would like me more for being in the cross hairs of said pop star, sounds good! Still it would probably me a huge hassle in practice, press interviews, their fans hassling me, their haters praising me. Unless I get some royalties or something, it would not be worth it.

Why would I want to be famous? I like my privacy, thank you. Besides, my self-esteem is so low that having a song about how much I suck go viral would probably push me over the deep end. So no thank you!

I'd be amused and momentarily flattered that someone like that was so badly annoyed by me.

I would also be incredibly irritated by any residual fame, even if the only fame-seeking morons I had to deal with were those that liked me doing whatever I did to be so immortalized. Our society assigns fame too easily, to the wrong kind of people, and reacts to it in an unhealthy manner.

The part about it being an attack on me would hardly register as a significant detail.

On the whole, no

I would love to hear it! I'm actually a big fan of criticism aimed at me, as long as it is reasonable.

On the surface, it sounds like something I wouldn't mind. Silly song about me. Whatever.

But then again, there are some cuh-ray-ah-zee fans out there.

I've already got enough abuse for trivial reasons already in my life, thank you.

I dont want Taylor Swift to sing crap about me if I were her ex BF.
But if the song is about how bad I was as in, bad ass I was, then sure, why not?

Now, if it were how I'm really, really bad at sidescrollers or certain other game genres? That would probably be pretty funny.

Otherwise, there's no one I've wronged to the degree that any song like that getting fame would be warranted. It'd probably drive me a bit nuts for a time actually, as I'm conditioned to dislike being misrepresented due to... certain actions of certain relatives.

Can I get rich off of it? Definitely. Who cares, if I can't take all the haters around every corner I'll just move somewhere else like Nevada and see them try to hate me while dying of heat. I hardly go outside anyway and being rich means I never have to.

If I can't get rich, will it get me laid all the time? Possibly, but it would depend on the kind of hate I get. I can't enjoy getting laid when i'm dead unless it's being laid to rest.

Just to be famous and to troll? That's the big leagues. I'm not sure I can be a very good troll on such a large scale, especially without homies/possy to back me up. I'd have to decline.

Same here. If the song was specific enough that the general public could infer my identity then I see no reason why such a famous song could be used as a basis for a lawsuit. It would be even easier if it could be proven the song was written in malice and not satire. Slander FTW!!!

I would then use the money to skip 3 years of internship and go to college for 1 year instead and get right into the animation industry.

Okay, fess up thal, what did you do to Taylor Swift?
Nothing so far, but you, might be an idea.

Seriously, though, is there any good reason for all the hate she gets, or is she just the latest female celebrity it's cool to hate on?
I like taylor swift and id happily let her write a song about me. I too dont understand all the hate she gets sure shes had a lot of guys but shes a young gorgeous rich girl. If it was a good looking young rich guy in the same position hed be seen as a legend. Also its must be so hard for her to hold down a new relationship when the media destine it to fail from day one

Only if I got a lot of money in the process. Negative fame isn't its own reward.
