"Never Gonna' Give You Up" is an awesome song. So awesome that I made a playlist consisting of only it, repeating over and over again.

While it's probably not something I would ever search for myself, I actually enjoy Never Gonna Give You Up. Bieber, on the other hand, is the sort of aural warfare they should use to torture terrorists.

Rick Astley had actual talent---and a great sense of humor about being turned into an Internet meme (Rickrolling the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was the man's Crowning Moment of Awesome.)

Bieber is a boil on the ass of popular music.

Rick Roll, though, to be honest, since the internet, Rick Astley has sort of grown on me...

Picking on Justin Bieber does not make you look cool, in fact, it makes him look sympathetic for not giving a shit about the thousands of people that make fun of him.
If he's a fad, treat him like a fad, not "the most annoying sound in the world".

This thread is fail.
I don't know what you meant in your second sentence and I also never said beiber was the most "annoying sound in the world"I only said he was annoying. There could be a million other things that could be the most annoying. If you don't like the thread then don't post in it.

Your post is fail

Rick Roll, it's actually a good song. Justin Bieber on the other hand is really annoying.

Rick Roll. Not only is the song good, but it is scarily reminiscent of a certain Chrono Trigger character's theme [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-_XvOAF8zk].

One vote for Justin Bieber and 50+ for Rick-roll...

All I can see is this one Justin Bieber fan crying.

Rick Astley at least got his 15 minutes back in an age when sequencing and MIDI quantisation was innovative hot-stuff, the man can sing reasonably well, and youtube overexposure aside it's not that naff a song, merely a bit cheesy.

Was stuck out in the back of beyond earlier this week, with only a radio and a poor selection of stations for entertainment (well, that and a colleague's Lady Gaga fetish - she's alright, but constant repetition grates). For some reason, Never Gonna Give You Up came on. We all collectively and instantly groaned with the shared joke... but we left it on.

There were enough other things that had one or other of us diving for the tuning dial and trying to lock on to one of the other two listenable broadcasts however (including some horrific thing that seems to copy - but NOT sample?! - parts of Smile.DK's "Butterfly" and make it far, far worse than the Danes could ever have hoped to). I can't guarantee one of them wasn't Bieber. S/he hasn't made a huge impact on the musical circles in which I swim so I doubt I'd recognise one of their songs if I heard it, but the snatches I've heard are ... innoffensive. Poor quality teenybopper slushtracks to be sure, but nothing that would drive me to distraction until the third or fourth repetition in one day (during the first week of exposure), much like the gaga. Stuff like Ronan Keating is probably worse.

However, I'd most likely choose Rick over Justin(e). At least there's a better guarantee we're hearing some kind of natural talent and possibly even heartfelt expression in the first case.

Even though rick rolls are annoying, I actually like the song and occasionally sit through them without realizing it until the sounds suddenly stop.

Justin Bieber...No...My ears would bleed after 20 seconds of listening to "him" sing.

Rick Astley isn't even that bad. I like the song.
I find myself humming the song whenever it's really quiet.

"We're no strangers to love..."
