I can't believe that there are people on this site who would consider paying for something like Call of Duty on a sub based thing. 2 people but still.

Let's put it this way. I didn't pay for COD 4 MW2 simply because they raised the price for the PC version ten dollars with no explanation. If that was the end of the line for me, why on earth would I go five miles beyond that and pay every month for the chance to hear twelve year olds shrieking into their headsets?

No. No. NO. I'm sticking with Valve.

Seriously speaking, if Activision went through with this, they would lose so much revenue in a flash. People wouldn't stand for it, and it is guaranteed that the number of people subscribing would be at a very low level. There'd be a fair few desperate and 'hardcore' CoD players who would pay, but most won't. And the sad fact is, if one company does it, then others will potentially follow suit. It could see the potential end of multiplayer gaming as we know it, or a lot of gamers out of pocket for a while. Either way, if Activision go for this, then the next few months will be a very tough time for online gamers.

For the record, I say no. Why should I have to pay extra per month to play a game I've already paid for at the shop, and pay monthly or yearly for anyway with XBL?

By Call of Duty I'm going to go ahead and assume you mean the last good Call of Duty game, Call of Duty United Offensive, whose multiplayer function (With a logical rank system and balanced maps/weapons/vehicles) and single player story (Which made sense) could run metaphorical circles around the tripe that they have been releasing recently.

Despite that game being one of my all time favourite multiplayer games of all time, I wouldn't be willing to pay to play. Why? Because I'm not a console gamer. I have serious objections about the idea of forking over money to play games I've already paid for.

Yep, I play it more than anything else so I guess I would. Though it would need some kind of account that covered all systems. I would't pay to play on PS3 then have to play another subscription to play on PC as well.

Why pay for a meh game when I can play TF2 for free?
ur a mac? ... well either way I agree. TF2 is far superior to iw's mess in style, functionality and replayability. Paying to play over time has always just been idiotic to me. Therefore, my MMO of choice is GW. I pay once, I play forevAR.

I'm not entirely sure how what I said makes me a mac?

No. The Call of Duty games released so far are just not good enough for me to be willing to pay money in order to play them online. Especially not since I already have to pay in order to get new maps and such.

I will never ever pay for a FPS game, The only type of game I would ever pay a sub for would be an MMO and im not a big fan of those either.

The game isn't good enough. And there is no reason for a fee, the have little upkeep costs that somehow justifies MMo's fees. AND THERE ARE STILL N00B TUBES!!!!

Nope, for the same half of a reason why I will never play WoW. Actually, MW2 is just like WoW. To get the full experience you have to spend about $100 to get the game and all DLC/exps, and pay each month on top of that to deal with a bunch of camping douche bags on the internet? Yeah right. Honestly I think those games that require subscription fees should be free...

I'm personally cool with paying a sub fee for an MMO. I know I got enough joy out of FFXI for my 8 pounds a month. COD however doesn't require the sort of support that any MMO does, and Kotick clearly comes across as simply wanting to wring everything he can from CODs user-base.
