Frankly, in a world of Counter Strike, Battlefield and Team Fortress I see no reason to play CoD full stop. Never mind actually paying money for the privilege.

I'd rather not have to pay a subscription to yell obscenities at my T.V. That would just be silly...

Didn't we just have this thread yesterday? And the day before that? Come on, people.

OT: No. I'll never continually pay to play a game. Ever.

No, I would never pay to play a game I already bought, and currently paying to play via Xbox Live, I barely play it as it is since every time I go online for COD it's filled with all of the people everybody hates.

And today...twice. I just wanted to see the results of an anonymous poll. It's given me some faith to say the least...

...although it's by no means an accurate representation of the entire gaming community.

let's say that a 'reasonable' price is similar to that of an MMO. Around $13 a month.
How about we say for arguements sake that REASONABLE price means that we it is not over priced for what we get. IE constant FREE updates. Good content and something that isn't so unbalanced its fucking ridiculous.

Whatever you would deem as 'reasonable', sure.

Fuck no, I wasn't even willing to buy Call of Duty MW2 when they announced the price increase, le lone the removal of many standard features, (still haven't because the price still hasn't gone down at all.) I would hope that charging people for a subsciption to a mediocre multiplayer shooter of which there are hundreds would be a depressing failure for whatever company tried to impliment it. I know Bob Kotick's piggy little eyes are fixed firmly on the financial success of the digital crack cocain that is World of Warcraft and I'm sure he holds the personal opinion that gamers are walking wallets with more disposable income than brain cells but he's already stretching the willingness of gamers to support his company to breaking point. For some reason so many people seem willing to just cope with his bullshit but already myself and many others have given him the proverbial finger and I don't think it would take too much more for the rest of his customer base to catch on as well.

No, I would not, but then again that's not the point of the fee. The point of the fee is to stop people from playing popular multiplayer modes instead of buying new games, as was suggested by a newsroom post not too long ago.

No, I wouldn't. Infact, I wouldn't pay for a first-person shooter without dedicated servers (hence why I didn't buy Modern Warfare 2) and a subscription-based FPS would make it impossible to include those.

Plus, playing a subscription-based game is a financial commitment that I can't afford and would rather spend the money on new games.

I do wonder why you're even asking this here given the amount of unbridled MW2 hate that exists here. It's sort of like asking a mouse if it would like to be thrown into a cage full of cats.

Would I pay? No, absolutely not. But then again, I also barely play anything other than MMOs online.

Ask an actual dedicated MW2 player if they would, though, and you'd likely get a different answer especially if the price was right and said subscription included things like free maps, weapons, gear, etc. Heck, serious MW2 players already don't mind paying $15 every few months for a couple of new maps and a couple of refurbished ones.

To be fair, everyone who voted for the last option actually voted for the second as well. You just see the imposition of any price as unreasonable.

If it's anything above $2/month, there's absolutely no way I'll consider it.

A resounding maybe. I mean, if they lowered the cost (to buy the game) a ton, and updated very frequently, it might be worth it. but then again, this is Activision, so it's very unlikely that's going to happen.

Why would I play CoD anyways?

The only games that need a damn subscription are MMOs. Games that you have paid for shouldn't have a fucking subscription to get certain features of it. Especially if your paying for the feature to get teabagged and called a fag online.

If they release a new large scale Call of Duty game, that's like a real warzone with big maps and even sandbox elements, and made it like an MMO, which of course would mean Activision finally paying out for servers like they should have done originally.

I would then also expect mod support, no charges for new map packs (1200MS for 3 new maps and 2 rehashes of CoD4 maps is fucking ridiculous!!), constant updates included in the price of the subscription.

Also lower the cost of the game itself.

So in other words, if Activision actually started to stop shitting on its fanbase with major cutbacks... then maybe.
