Perhaps not the whole bible (God that would be boring), but perhaps the stories of the bible.
Now imagine this:
It starts with a scene of a house at night. the camera moves in through the window and you a kid sitting at home, watching TV, when suddenly he hears a loud bang outside, He looks up to see a bright light. It is blinding at first, but as he looks into the light, he sees an Angel. The kid cannot believe his eyes, but then the Angel says to him, "Child, come with me and you will see a story like none you have ever known." The kid turns to run, but then he is surrounded by darkness. As he awakens, he sees an old man wearing a robe who says to the kid, "Strange child, my name is Abram. Now, might you be as so kind as to tell me your name?"
you would play through the narrative of each book of the bible, and between books, the Angel would take the kid back and drop him in the next narrative.
Now, I'm not saying make a game that spreads christianity, but we have games based on Chinese Mythology, Japanese Mythology, Norse Mythology, Greek Mythology. Why not the Hebrew Mythology?
Sure there are games based on Christianty, but none of the characters are properly named. In God of War, the gods are named by name, they are not given cover names so we might possibly be able to figure out who they are without saying who they are.
How many games have Odin as Odin, not something weird like King Greshbal as Odin (I just made up the name Greshbal).
We don't have a game where Jesus plays Jesus. It is always someone as a Jesus figure.
Now, as I said, it will not be a game to spread Christianity. People of faith will say something like it is wonderful game and blah blah blah. But people I know who have read the bible and are not religious have said that The bible is a great work of fiction. (funny fact: I know more non-religious people who have read the bible than I know religious people who have read the bible)
If it is a great work of fiction, why can't it be a great video game?
Now just imagine the final fight:
Your Jesus, fighting the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. After that you have Satan himself. After Satan falls and dies, the camera just goes to Jesus, he closes his eyes and he says, "It is done." The screen goes black, and the kids wakes up and it was all a dream.
