I hope that this fad goes away fast. I guess that I just don't understand the appeal of 3D to people.

I, like a lot of the others on the site, have some eye problems and wear glasses so the glasses thing is a real put off for me.

I don't mind the glasses in and of themselves, but i see no tangible benitit to adding 3d, it doesn't really enhance the experience. add to that the fact that i spend the entire movie/game looking myself in my left eye reflected in the glasses, and everything is darker, adn it gives me a godawful headache, and finally, it costs a lot more. nothing doing. only reason i have a flatscreen is cuz it was easier to carry, i was fine with my normal def tv for games and movies, and i still use it when i go visit my parents.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK NOOOOOOOOO!

All these games and movies moving to this whole '3D' thing, is pissing me off. It's just stepping in the wrong direction, focusing on visuals and gimmicks, where they should be looking for ways to improve gameplay and writing.

Plus, the glasses look stupid, and anyone who puts them on looks like a tool.

80% of that study can kiss the fattest part of my ass.

PS. FUCK JAMES CAMERON AND HIS SMURFS FOR STARTING THIS WHOLE THING UP AGAIN! 3D died decades ago for good reason...

Oh also not to mention that something like %30 or more of people can't see or have trouble seeing 3D. I don't know the exact figure, but it's something surprisingly large like that.
Yeah, if I wanted to see everything in blurry double vision that gave me a splitting headache afterward I'd drink a bottle of cheap whiskey.

Yes, but only if the 3D is done well (like in Avatar, rather than in Clash Of The Titans), and only if the glasses are the same sort as used in cinemas (so like sunglasses, rather than cardboard ones with green/red paper like you get with most '3D' DVDs). Then, I'd have no problem with wearing 3D glasses when I game :).

nope will never, i always feel 3D makes things less immersive so why would i want to play games or watch movies with them, although i will shell out for holograms if we ever get to them

Well I actually have some nVidia 3d glasses... so I guess that makes me a yes!

I'm lucky enough not to get any adverse side effects from wearing them, and to be honest when you're PC gaming you tend to be all set up and by yourself anyway so having to put glasses on is no more of an issue than wearing headphones.

I still don't use them all the time, most games aren't 100% compatible yet anyway so you get some issues, but also in multiplayer I prefer not - you're trying to concentrate enough anyway without the added depth to consider! (Also the slight framerate hit makes more of a difference in mutiplayer)

But a singleplayer game that works well and you can just immerse yourself in... awesome.

Hmm... Any titles you think work particularly well with those? I've never heard of/seen those, somehow. >_>

it really depends on whether the game developers developed the game to be 3d or just did a quick 3d job when it was finished. i hate to bring this up again, but remember how good avatar looked? no not the plot, the LOOK. yeah, that in my games is awesome.

What an odd way to phrase a question. It's not a matter of not wanting to wear glasses, I just really don't think 3D is all it's cut out to be. I wouldn't want to be paying for 3D content in a game when it's not something that interests me or improves the experience. The new 3D televisions are a joke and I really do feel the whole thing is just a gimmick. Until the technology gets better I'm not remotely ineterested.

I dont want to have to buy a new tv AND glasses just to watch a movie/play a game. I'm wearing normal glasses myself, so its also really uncomforable for me to wear another pair on top of them.

I'm unsure. I haven't worn them yet, and I don't wear prescription glasses, so I don't know if they'd be a bother after 3 or 4 hours (I generally game for about that much at a time). I also heard they were battery powered, so how often do you need to change the batteries? I HATE changing batteries. My wireless mouse dies once every two months and I almost scream when it does (well, not really, but you get what I mean).

There's no option for unsure so I will not choose one. The price of said glasses and the tv's is not an issue since it's "Would you play games wearing 3D glasses?". Would I? I would definitely try it, game for as long as I can with them at a demo show or something. If I got a TV and glasses for free, I'd for sure try it. If I can do it comfortably, I'd keep gaming with them, yes.

TL;DR: If they're comfy, I would game like that, maybe not all the time but I would.

They feel uncomfortable to me, and I often find it hard to stomach more than an hour's worth of 3D, especially if it's the kind that's right in your face.
