Poll: Would you play this game?

No, I wouldn't. Too many shooters these days, and that sounds pretty goddamn boring if I'm honest.

It'd definitely be trying to cash in on the inevitable controversy such subject matters would produce.

I voted no, but only because CoD/Battlefield games don't appeal to me. I think that there could be game potential there, but it would have to be done extremely well, and I don't think there are any developers capable of pulling it off. Also, the controversy it would generate would be far too great for anyone to even attempt it anyway.

Sorry, the whole thing is based on if the game was hypothetically actually made. In which case, my first sentence still stands; that style of game doesn't appeal. Maybe if it was a different genre.

Would you play Call of Duty/Battlefield style game where you:

A. Get to gun down and shoot Osama Bin Laden
B. Play a level that takes place either in one of the twin towers or one of the planes that crashed into it on 9/11.

I probably would play both of them, yeah.

The second one could be pretty interesting depending on how it's done, what options are available to you, what effect if any your actions have on the rest of the game--imagine condensing the whole "War on Terror" down into a game starting with 9/11. You could choose to try to change history, there's a lot of potential for branching storylines from there.
