Poll: Would you push an end-of-the-world button?

No, because I would know that it's not a real button, and would likely only cause some practical joke to happen at my expense. And if it actually was some real button, why would I do that? It's basically an exaggerated form of suicide, pressing a button to destroy the world that I'm currently on. Why be a selfish prick like that and take everyone with me? Much easier to just kill myself in some individual way so that everyone else can keep rolling along.

Besides, I like the world, and think life is pretty damn awesome, and I'm optimistic about the future, I see no reason to fuck that all up just to satisfy some momentary lizard brain urge to see what happens when I press a button.

Eh, depends on two factors:

Factor 1: What would the means of the end of the world be? Are we talking just "instant death for everyone"? "Start the Zombie Apocalypse"? "Unleash an unstoppable Super Virus"? If it would be an instant snuffing out of life, then move on to Factor 2. If it's something more drawn out, then probably not...I wouldn't want the hassle of dealing with a "survive as long as you can" scenario.

Factor 2: What kind of day am I having. :3

If it's only a button saying "End of the world" I do not consider it a true "End-of-the-world" button, so assuming it DOES end the world. Yes.
Don't want me to push the button? Then don't construct something with the ability to end the world, don't add an extremely user-friendly way of activating it and definitely don't put me in front of it.

Do you mean "End of the World" like literally all life on the planet is extinguished? Then hell no, why would I do that?

But if you mean "End of the World" like it becomes a post-apocalyptic landscape? Then hells yes! I'll need some time to prepare, get myself a suped up car like Mad Max, some guns, a Blue Heeler Dog, and I'm ready to battle some leather-clad Bandits.

If I just got off work, and I came across that button. Hell Yes!!! It seems like I am working in an area of town where everybody is a rude, obnoxious, moronic jerk. When I am not stressed-out by my job, I would find a way to protect that button from being pressed. Maybe, try to find a way to disconnect that button to whatever will cause the world to end. In other words, despite humanity being a giant pain in the ass. I would do everything that I can to protect it. Grrrr! I hate being a nice guy. Why can't I be a jerk like everybody else?

No I would not push it. However I would threaten to push it unless everyone game me ALL OF THE MONEY! and a chocolate bar, Dary Milk or Galaxy but no caramel. If there is caramel then the world goes bye bye.
