No, no. It would be like your dog. Only a dragon.thaluikhain said:Is the dragon a sentient creature? Cause owning one would be very wrong then.
Also, is this a shapeshifting dragon? Cause then I could be me most of the time.
But in that case, being a dragon is a terrible choice as you would be destroying yourself as a sentient being.HBMK said:No, no. It would be like your dog. Only a dragon.thaluikhain said:Is the dragon a sentient creature? Cause owning one would be very wrong then.

I think you are confusing sentience (the ability to sense and feel things) with higher brain function.ClockworkPenguin said:But in that case, being a dragon is a terrible choice as you would be destroying yourself as a sentient being.HBMK said:No, no. While a controller needs opposable thumbs, I'm sure a dragon could use a sturdy enough mouse and keyboard. Since the exact details of the hypothetical aren't laid down, there's no reason not to imagine the best case scenario where humans and dragons work together peacefully, so there's no need to assume you'd be consigned to the wilderness. I mean, sure food and accommodation might be more expensive, but on the other hand, you'd have a massively extended lifespan, super strength and flight.Scarim Coral said:I regret picking owning a dragon. Being a dragon is no fun since I will lived in a cave and don't have the things I liked such as PC or my console etc.
You forgot to consider the size and material needed to construct a dragon size pc! Not only will it be big but it going to be expensive due to the tougher material for the casing (probably fire proof aswell).ClockworkPenguin said:While a controller needs opposable thumbs, I'm sure a dragon could use a sturdy enough mouse and keyboard. Well, assuming dragons are aerial predators, they probably have excellent eyesight so you wouldn't have to increase the monitor size to dragon proportions. The actual processing units don't need to increase in size either, the only things that need to be changed are the physical inputs- buttons etc. on the CPU unit and input devices such as mouse and keyboards might have to be redesigned to be dragon ergonomic (ie, replace buttons w switches, make keyboards revert to a more typewriteresque feel). But making those bigger is probably fairly easy, and assuming dragons are very strong you could cheap out and use heavier materials to increase sturdiness without greatly affecting experience.Scarim Coral said:You forgot to consider the size and material needed to construct a dragon size pc! There is also the fact that I don't want to introduce a creature which could eat me or cause huge amounts of damage. I would have one as a pet, and then slit its throat. I am fine without having predators, thank you very much.Tuesday Night Fever said:Neither...?
On the other hand, having a pet dragon would suck because holy shit would that be expensive. I mean, how would I even hope to afford to feed the damn thing? Where am I going to keep such a large animal in my tiny home? And even if it could be trained to use a sandbox like a cat's litterbox... good lord, you'd need a shovel, or hell maybe a tractor, to clean it out. Not to mention I'd need to have an alarm system installed to deal with fool adventurers trying to kill my pet in order to prove their worth and devotion toward their country and/or love interest.
It can't really work that way.HBMK said:I think you are confusing sentience (the ability to sense and feel things) with higher brain function.ClockworkPenguin said:But in that case, being a dragon is a terrible choice as you would be destroying yourself as a sentient being.HBMK said:No, no. If you were the dragon you would still retain your higher brain functions, if you owned the dragon it would be your loyal pet/companion
