The two meaning exactly what they sound like...In Front Of meaning stuff like being on TV, being a name really well known and recognized, etc, while Behind meaning being the guy running the action, who doesn't get the name recognition but is in charge of making everything happen.

Personally, I've always preferred to be behind the camera. I always loved being the guy who runs everything, just personally knowing that I'm the guy who makes all the gears work in sync with each other.

I'd say behind.
I've always fantasized about producing/directing, etc.

I doubt I could hack it though.

If I could get over my stage fright...I'd say in front. It just seems like a lot of fun to act. Since I can't really do that, I'd go with Behind the Camera, for that reason and because deciding how things will be filmed sounds pretty sweet.

...*makes another Cloverfield*

Definitely behind. Reality television and those magazines at the grocery store have convinced me that when it comes to being famous, the lucky ones die.

I would rather remain a nameless super hero. Wait my name is Patrick The Savior of Canada... Shit.... Well I would still rather remain out of the public eye.

Where's the 'other' option. Because I have been in front of it as well as behind it and though I love being behind it, I sometimes enjoy the change up. However, if I absolutely have to choose then I'd say behind it.

In front of the camera for me. I've been told on several occasions that I should try acting since I'm so very "animated".

In front of... I take bad photographs and its amusing when you look back at pictures in parties and wonder 'what was I thinking?' when you look at all the stupid things alcohol has made you do. I don't really have a choice, one of my mates is always behind a camera then tags the worst photos he can find of people on facebook, so I'm stuffed either way.

I enjoy being in front of the camera. I write and I direct (very little) but if push came to shove I think I'd rather be in front of the camera.

Behind.
I get stage fright, which means I struggle to perform in front of any number of people more than a mirror.

I get to be in the moment, actually experiencing the events I'm shooting instead of just reporting it, sitting behind a blank stack of papers with a foppish hairdo and twenty make-up artists.
Besides, I get to add the witty, offhand, offscreen commentary viewers really appreciate.
