I didn't vote either way, simply because I don't believe that there is a simple all encompassing answer for the meaning of life. A life has several meanings, we as free willed rational thinkers give it meaning, whether our meaning is to pass things on to the next generation, to innovate, or to waste our lives. By saying a meaning, I wonder if you're trying to get at a purpose for existence, if that's the case, we have the same purpose as the grass, the trees, and the other beings that inhabit this rock... we are here to simply live and enjoy what sort of gift we're given. People as the higher order of rational thought want a large complex purpose, even if the simple answer dangles right in front of us. We exist to exist. Occam's Razor, The simplest explanation is the best one.
Do not try to overcomplicate what was never meant to be a complicated idea to begin with, you'll be happier that way.
But like I said in a post before knowledge is tentative, so maybe there is a greater truth out there, maybe the purpose is to discover it.
