I mean something like this. It's late so you go to bed.but instead of dreaming you arrive at a menu and select a game to play.you instantly arrive in a world with the best graphics (because your mind can process anything) and play. You would feel percieved pain (like when your injured in a dream and won't move). And the best part: you would wake up fully rested after 6-9 hours of gaming and spend the rest of the day.... doing whatever. (And you could choose to have normal dreams if you wanted.)

If such technology was created would you use it and replace dreams with Games?

What happens when you die? Do you..... wake up?

But anyways yes I would. That way I wouldn't have to choose between games and sleep.

You're asking a gaming forum if we'd play in our sleep if we could? :p

yeah, I always was one for being able to play inside an actual videogame. It would be so cool actually controlling the protagonist's actions and add another depth of realism. But getting hurt is never fun, so I'm not quite sure how this would work out yet. also, it would douple the amount of time I can spend on videogames a day. and it will also get alot more things done quicker. can you imagine all the other things I would be able to get done If there was no sleep to interrupt it?.

I would love if this was possible. The only worry is that we'd all suffer mental exhaustion.

I get in as much practice as I can in those half dream stages on a lie in trying to get the dream to play how I want it to. Lot of important practice there.

No ! I want to do whatever i want when i sleep i don't want a technology that replace me flying in the sky by shooting aliens. If there would be technology where you could use your dreams and enhance the feel of reality in them i would sign it though.

I might consider it for the same reason, but I'd then probably start sleeping too long. Plus, it would be mentally exhausting to be fully aware 24/7, even if I was phisically rested.

Also, I wouldn't be very comfortable with giving access to my subconscious to companies like EA and the like . Or to anyone, really, so that would probably kill any opportunity for multiplayer.

No. You know what, I *love* my dreams! I wouldn't replace them with anything, games included.

Im actually trying to forge a game inside my own head. Of course implementing an AI would leave me with a bilateral personality, so im not going to try that, yet.

I already dream about games; I spent a whole night planting bombs and pulling off decent shots on Counter Strike Source in my dreams.

I already dream in games a lot.

I had a really freaky Legend of Dragoon dream once.

It involved a strip club.

Im going to bring in some other concepts here... The Matrix anyone? And Surrogates (read the comic, not the film!)! Both of these show our detachment from reality through dreams. I think that dreams are a good way to stay grounded and creative, the day can be filled with everything else. Why would people wake up if the games could do anything? Also no multiplayer in dreams...

Answered poll before I read post :/. Sure I'd change dreams with the perfect gaming experience, but games as they are? No.

Very yes. My dreams are depressingly boring. Most of the time I'm going around in circles and/or dying from terminal diseases. The last time I had a game dream I was endlessly walking through the Fade. Really. Because that wasn't boring enough in Dragon Age, right?

So yes.

Heck yes, that is actually a pretty fantastic idea. I'll get the engineers working on it!
