Poll: Would you risk your life for a complete stranger?

Here's a possible scenario:

Your walking along a road, when sudddenly, a driver loses control of his/her car and crashes. You can see him/her uncouscious and the car is on fire and could explode any second.

Would you go save him/her and possibly risk your life, or run away/call for help whitout endangering your own life?

I would say yes in that scenario. I would feel very guilty if they died because no one reacted soon enough.

In this sceneraio, yes.

Due to of course, that gas tanks don't "explode" until a certain air to fuel ratio has been met, and with all of the air being burned up around it I just have to contend with the flames, from which can be bypassed temporarily (atleast long enough for the job to be done) with my leather jacket.

From then it's just elbowing in the window, (ow...)opening the door cutting the safety belt off, and draging him away.

OT: I think instant reaction would be to help the person. I don't even think in that situation I could think of myself, I'd just do it.

Yes i would. I would feel guilty if i hadnt done anything. Because most of the time nobody else will. Usually people are too scared to get involved or are just oblivious to the things around them. Or are just assholes who dont give a fadoodle.. Like that one guy who kicked that old lady to see if she was alive.

are exactly that ones who (in reality) stand in a crowd around an uncouncious person and would not even give basic life support because they they are not yet finished with starring

and when the ambulance arives they all start to give the medics their "very" helpfull advices in how to treat the patient

i worked as a paramedic for a year and i know people just act like that

I'd probably call 999, then proceed to do whatever I physically am able to do to help, in this particular scenario. If the driver is a hot woman then it's better, since I'll be the hero who saved her life (on a side note, has anyone here seen the movie 'Closer'? Just asking...). Butyes, I'd try and save the person.

If it was a different scenario then it would depend. I'd probably make a decision on a case by case scenario, mainly depending on whether or not I am actually able to do anything to help...
