Ah, a classic example of the old bystander effect. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bystander_effect] My personal motto is "Always try to help if possible, even if there are others present." You can't just stand around in a crowd and expect someone else to do it. Because everyone else in that crowd will likely also be waiting for someone else to act. But if one person decides just to take the inititave and go and help, it may spur others into action.
i once saw someone fall of a skateboard and after half a minute he had 40 people around him, helping him.

in my neighborhood, help is no-more then a ouch! away.

Depending on my mood I would either A) help him or B) take pictures and watch. I'm pretty indifferent towards the lives of other people especially since if i die trying to save them then thats two unnecessary deaths when there could have just been one. The one that wasn't me. Even if I did save him, it would probably only be so that I could brag about it later.

Funny because probably the only time I WOULD try to save the guy would be if nobody else did anything. It would just feel stupid if there were so many people around and nobody did anything. My logic is probably flawed but I don't really strive to be logical.

I would, Im just that kind of person, I unlike some was raised that way (in a none offense tone), I believe that no matter the circumstances anyone should at least try to help each other, unless that person is trying to kill you...

I think I would have natural instinct to. I have this sort of psychology which is basically "help people".
Hell, I've help other people without thinking, so I don't think this would be different. I once ran as fast as I could to stop a pram flying into the road when a car was coming.

In that scenario no, because I wouldn't be strong enough to rescue them. But in a scenario were I could actually help, yea sure, as long as it's not giving someone my liver or something.

Yes, but I'd try to be smart about it. Why? For one, I don't do anything without thinking it through first.

For two, that's the sort of thing I want to see happen in the world and I subscribe to the philosophy that states "if you wish to change the world, you must become the embodiment of that which you wish to see in the world."

I would like to think I would...I mean I have been known to help random people if they are showing signs of struggle.

Once helped a woman with a pushchair carry her bags to a bus stop while she took care of her child. So yes, I woulf

No.
Fuck that.

Why should I risk my life for a complete stranger? I'd consider it if it were fammily or a close friend, but not if it were a random stranger, I see no reason to potentially sacrifice my own life just for that warm and fuzzy feeling of having saved a person.

No, just no, I have a plan for my life and I intend to follow through with it.

Yes, cars almost never explode. First I'd look at the gas tank area, if there was fire near/on it, I'd run for it while calling for help.

I would consciously save them, but it all depends on if I'm startled by the crash, panic and draw a blank

I wouldn't knowingly not save him/her, but I might be too stunned to do anything useful

Interesting question, though
