Yes, I would.

Of course I'd call an ambulance and fire crew first before rushing over. First rule of First Aid training :p

No. Not a chance. Absolutment pas. Nein. Nyet. Uh-uh.

Besides the fact that I know from Grand Theft Auto never to approach a burning car, there's the simple fact that I prefer to save my altruism for people close to me. And besides, even if there's a hot chick in that car, she's gonna be disfigured by all that burnination, so there isn't even the selfish "hot chick owes me her life" factor.

I would have no interest in the situation and go about my business. In a better world, I might call an ambulance (if I observed no bumper stickers or other evidence that marks the person as someone I would want dead), but unfortunately as things are doing so could get me involved in a tedious trial in which I would refuse to testify (because I don't believe in a government's right to subpoena) and therefore be locked up.

Yes, depends on the answer of the following question;

Is she, or is she not hot?
Exactly what I was thinking. But I would simply do it because I couldn't live with myself if I didn't. Here's to hoping I'm not a coward.

If i was old then i do it. I would want a fulfilling life with a awesome ending :D

Most people wouldn't since strangers aren't closer in the "monkey sphere" (don't know what that is just ask)

Further proof that great minds think alike, and by minds I mean our balls.

In that scenario yes, but I'm also a certified firefighter so that could color my judgment a bit. But if I didn't have that background, I like to think that I would at least do something to help.

Now I say yes, for it would be the right thing to do.

But I am a coward, and my self preservation instinct would probably overpower my want to help others.

I'm not too sure, since I've never been in a situation in which only my intervention could mean the diffence between the life and death of another (I have talked friends out of suicide, but I don't think that's the same as the situation you're describing...), I can't really say, although I'd like to think I'd do my best to help the person in danger, but I doubt that I'd have the physical strength to pull them out of the car to begin with, so me trying to get them out myself would only worsen the situation.

What ever gave you that idea?

OT: I think instant reaction would be to help the person. I don't even think in that situation I could think of myself, I'd just do it.
Have you ever watched Mythbusters? They always seem to have a hard time igniting gasoline, and an even harder time trying to get it to explode. It's not like it is in the movies.

Me, watch TV. I've only watched a select few episodes and that is when my fiance isn't playing XBOX...which is never.

With all due respect, you don't know me. (or any of the other people that have said that they would, for that matter) So I would appreciate it if you didn't tell me what I would or wouldn't do in a given situation.
I really fucking hate when people do that.
He doesn't deserve any respect.

Anyway, no.
Actually, I guess it depends.

On the one hand, I don't care if they die.
On the other, I might get some hero points, and I'd have an interesting story to tell.

So it depends on my mood.
But Max, Max, Max, that's the beauty of the phrase "With all due respect". If he's not due any respect, then it's not really giving him any, is it? But it still sounds respectful, and indeed can be depending on whether you think the person you are addressing is worthy of respect or not. It's wonderfully ambiguous.

Having had this discussion some years ago with friends, yes, I definitely would. There's no more noble a death than one that's accepted to save another's life.

I'd like to think I would help, but I can't really say how I'd react if the situation actually happened.

not the exact same situation, but I already risked my life for someone I didn't know. To be quite honest, I would do it again, I can now look back and be proud of myself
