wondering, if you had the power would you close the gaming industry down

No. I don't think I'd want it on me to lay off all those (insert appropriately large number here) people and leave them jobless. And I don't think there would be any point in getting rid of it.

Well, no. The gaming industry today is a multi-billion market. Shutting it down 100% would directly or indirectly affect the world marketing, leaving millions of people without a job, even those who does not work in the gaming industry. Imagine having all that on your concience.
