Problem with Robin Hood is a one-time distributing of money won't solve the problem as the money will just end up back in the same hands as prices will coincidently rise by 1000% when the owners of the means of production want to be rich again

Back to square one since you'd have to be insane to sell your only monopoly card

Most likely not since my hopes are to live comfortably at 75K (and being adventurous being a cfo making 300K) so id probably be the one hagving my money taken.

I mean the ideas nice and all sure but not very pratical since I don't think charity organizations can use stolen funds towards their goals.

But seriously, what everyone else said. Someone who steals from the corrupt? maybe. Someone who steals from the rich? No.

I don't know. Didn;t Robin Hood steal from the sherif and the prince as they were stealing and overtaxing the people? So in effect they were taking the money back. I don't think you could say a rich businessman has stolen money from people (except in specific cases).

Depends. Who's he (OR SHE DON'T HIT ME) stealing from? That silly australian woman or decent folk like say Bill Gates (who gives a crap load of his money anyways)?

I put no because most rich folk are not people that should be punished and many do donate loads of money to charities.
If It was me, I'd specifically look for the more dodgy rich people, So y'know, politicians, Criminals, Stupid people, bankers, then re-distribute the fuck out of it.

I think it's fair enough to say It isn't fair that richness isn't a crime, what bothers me is when rich people abuse their power, or use the poor to gain more money. With some of these bankers, it's really just returning whats already been stolen from poor people.

No. If I was rich, and I worked for it and earned that money, some random guy would not have the right to steal stuff from me, even if it was for a charity, and especially not if it was for some white trash living on welfare because they are too lazy to get a job.

What do you define as rich and poor? By world standards, virtually everyone on this forum is incredibly wealthy. Anyone who genuinely steals from the rich and gives to the poor would rob most of us blind and give it to developing nations.

Given how I like my things, I'd say that I would not support him. Besides, we live in a democracy. You think the poor should get more? Vote for politicians who agree!

"But Koroleve," you say, "The rich control the electoral process and the media!". Well, no, they don't really control it entirely. If they did, Obama would never have been elected. The vote in the US is still free and mostly (not entirely) fair. It's just that Americans for the most part have brought in to the two party system and a lot of Americans hate the poor.

You can claim that it's the media and all those political ads that warp the process - um... who listens to the ads? Who believes them? That's right, the people.

You have LEGAL and SAFE ways to redistribute wealth if that's what most Americans want. Most Americans do not want that. And no, attending your college rallies does not prove that most of America wants what you want - your college rallies are not representative of the US population! It's astonishing how many naive college students fail to realize that the political make up of the college campus does NOT reflect the political make up of the USA in its entirety. That is why you are often so shocked when politicians you like fail to get elected, despite everyone around YOU supporting them. Everyone around YOU is not EVERYONE. It's not a hard concept to grasp.

The US people have the means to make a fairer, nicer, richer nation. But most of them don't care enough to make it a reality. The US gets the government it deserves!

So where am I going with this tangent? Ah yes - a modern day robin hood would brake the law. The law is the will of the majority of the people. What's that you say! The law sucks! Well, then, guess who is to blame for THAT! There is no grand conspiracy keeping the US down, there is no mastermind plot behind why there are so many poor people in the US - simply put, the majority of the people in the US (much like the majority of people in EVERY NATION - that goes for China, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Australia, Iceland, Angola, Brazil etc), are selfish, shortsighted and easily fooled by big bright shiny ads.

You want redistribution of wealth? Convince your fellow citizens it is a good idea (and good luck with that). Don't go supporting a vigilante.
Pretty much this. I'd also like to mention that stealing is a crime, and is always a crime, and will always be a crime, regardless of who you steal from or what your intentions are. Even if you steal from someone who earned that money in an unjust way- heck, even if they earned it illegally- is still a crime. If they earned it unjustly, but legally, the best thing to do would be to try and get the law fixed so they can't do it anymore, and if it was done illegally, then you try and get them imprisoned and their money paid back as compensation.
Basically, stealing is always wrong.

No, for the reasons presented in the video, it's like benefits but without requirements and it's funded by crime, I'm left-wing but giving people more money for free than they could earn working for it is a bit stupid.

Ugh... so people really are still this ignorant.

Do all of you think the banking cartels and the corporations that raze third-world countries "deserve their riches"? Or do you think they stole what wasn't rightfully theirs?

It's also wonderful to see this stupid trope still exists:
"I'll take no stand because I'll be rich some day."

No. No you will not.

Definitely, assuming it was done in a way I'd consider reasonable. I mean technically I'm under the poverty line, and have been most of my life, but I wouldn't want them giving the money to people in my situation. I'm sat here in a good house, with plenty of food, water and electricity, and I spend most of my free time playing video games. If they were actually giving the money to people who struggle to survive, then I'd definitely be behind it, even if they took money from rich people that had done nothing wrong.

OT: No , stealing is bad . The thing about robin hood is , he stole from the rich , because the rich ( in this case the prince if i remember correctly ) was stealing from the poor . Taking all their money only to fill up his chambers with money . Barely leaving the common folk with enough money to live . Everyone outside the castle gates were poor . Robin hoods goal wasn't to "Steal" from the rich folk , but to give back to the poor what was theirs to begin with , and what was unfairly taken from them .
This right here. A modern day Robin Hood would be entirely out of place and mostly out of a job in the current Western world.

Now, in Africa...

A modern day Robin Hood with a world-wide perspective would steal from you, me, and everyone else on this forum, as well as the targets you hate. Remember that.

Not far from me, I live near Lenton. Weather always seems to be worse in Nottingham when it's bad, I think it's the amount of concrete there is.
