As the title suggests, this is a hypothetical situation here.

Lets say you were offered the chance to time travel, only once, and only to the beginning of World War 2, to kill Hitler. After the job was done, you would snap back to your own time, although it would be altered due to your actions. Would you take this opportunity? (and before anyone tries to get cute, if you refuse to kill Hitler when you time travel, you automatically go back to your own time, and receive a kick to the balls for wasting everyone's time)

Remember, time travel is a VERY complicated business. Killing Hitler would have DRASTIC effects on the future, in ways you couldn't possibly know.

Perhaps without Hitler, another tyrant would assume power, and do things even WORSE than Hitler. Maybe taking Hitler out would completely avert the war. Maybe without Hitler... you do not exist. Do you take the chance to save countless lives, without knowing the potential consequences?
I WOULD NOT DREAM OF IT!!!

My great grandfather came from mexico to serve in the war to become a US citizen, if WW2 didnt happen, me, my brother, my mother, nay, my entire family would not exist as we do today. so no i would not dream of it and i would kick the professor in the balls just for recommending ME for the job, hes got a time travel device, did he not have the technology for a background check?

I'd probably be too afraid by the Butterfly Effect to do it. Though if that worried me so much I would travel back in time and killer Hitler and then travel back in time and stop myself killing Hitler, like the robot in the links below

thats stupid, in a realistic setting, if i people managed to kill Hittler his subordinates would take controll and make it look as thought Hittler was never killed, in the end it was not HIM who did all those horrible things, it were his IDEAS, which would keep on going even after him being dead

and if you killed him "before" he got into power then he would be replaced by someone else, the sittuation on Germany at the time was really precarious and not all the desitions he took were "rash" or "stupid" he ultimately took the country and pulled it from the hole it was in, something that someone else would have done, but i dont know if he would have succeded...

Besides hitler was one of the luckiest persons ever when it came to avoiding assasinations, so odds are it would still fail. There was like what? 100 attemps?

u bet your ass i would do it but i would do it the kratos in which: i kidnap hitler and tie him to a table then force him to listen to jewish music and jewish movies until he wants to die then i would SLOOOWWWWWLLLLLYYYYY pour drops of acid onto his face and listen to his agonizing screams of pain and suffering and put them on my ipod.

Probably yes as a hot gun decision

And here is something you may not know about Hitler: he was VERY LUCKY!

I'll explain

Because in the trenches in WW1 when some one wanted to light a fag they would passed the flame to two other people, the opposing trench would see the flame and set up the sniper to shoot, the second person who had the match the sniper would aim for them and the third man would die because sniper was in position to kill a enemy solider.

And one day in the trenches Hitler was the third man with the match but the British solider did not fire because he thought too much blood had already been spilt.

So basically it dumb luck Hitler even managed to survive!

I take the red alert (tm) view. If Hilter was killer history would create a new monster worse than Hilter.. The Brotherhood of Nod perhaps...
Wait, whats wrong with NoD :(

OT: No because time is something you DONT screw around with, also over-population is a problem now and war helps lessen it. (Also, I am trying to not sound like a jerk)

Pfft, kill? What kinda level of stupid can only think of ONE way to change a mans course?

I'd travel back, make him my closest friend, and manipulate the son of a *****! Shortly thereafter, he being Jewish with pacifistic thoughts...
Ohh, how I would laugh. But only I could understand the deep irony of it all however, which just kills the effort of doing it in the first place :(
