No. Intelligence does not equal happiness, and in some cases can actually mean the opposite. I'd rather live longer and get a better chance at that happiness than just be smart.

Jeez, that's tough.

Meh, I think I can settle for a normal lifespan with my 144 IQ.

No, because I'm fine with my current capacity, and because I don't know that I'll be able to afford losing 25 years off my life. ><

probably. Alheimers runs in my family so might as well just have myself die before THAT takes what intelligence i do have away.

Can i please go the other way and trade some of my intelligence for a lower I.Q? I'd rather be dumb and happy for a long time than intelligent and bored stupid for a short time.

Nope, I'm already pretty smart and don't want the unpredictability of life ruined because I wanted to be smarter.

No, because I can probably gather more knowledge in those 25 years than can be 'bestowed' on me. Unless we are really talking about shitloads of knowledge about everything, in which case I probably wouldn't mind dying earlier seeing as I have already gained pretty much all possible knowledge. It's a double-edged spoon to me, as neither side really cuts.

Intelligence begets depression, and I'm depressed enough as is. Besides, 25 years is a lot of life to squander.

Probably smarter, as long as I got a superior memory along with it. Then I would use it to make the world better (cheesy i know...) with my numerous inventions and advances in Science. Then I would be immortalized as one of history's greats and not just some smart guy who lived once.
Or if I could do it (as in if it not against the rules) I would find a way to download a human mind into a supercomputer or expand a human's life span. That way i'll live as long as possible

Yes, because maybe I could find a way to increase my lifespan again. Then I would be smart and live a long time.

Many have already commented on the fact that intelligence can mean a decline in happiness. I would say it is true, as ignorance truly is bliss. The smarter you are, the less you can relate to those around you, and thus, those you consider peers or friends will decline... (Well, with the exception of all those ANGST filled people out there). I remember House having an episode being a good example of this.

Heres an interesting thought- There is one theory, that each individual will never experience their own death, so technically, trading those years of your life will have no real impact.

Of course.

I am assuming that the intelligence gain is on the level of 'likely the smartest person to live'

In which case I would plan to pull a Dr. Brackman
