As of current I don't think I'm wise enough to make a choice like that. Immortality is appealing, and while I don't have an interest in kids now, I'm sure one day it's an option that would appeal to me.

I would accept immortality if it included eternal youth, no health problems, and the ability to kill myself.


I do not want kids so for me it would be a win-win situation.

This is stupid. I want to be completely immortal I don't want to trade for my immortality only to be stabbed or shot and die anyways. Still even under this restriction I would probably choose yes, assuming I stay young and keep my mind.

Ya I read that article, and it doesn't make a valid point. Yes you would probably be unwilling to form close relationships with people, since you know you'll outlive them, but the last part about the cosmos exploding and you floating around is stupid. If you really think humans are just gonna go fuck it sun is gonna explode soon, better say goodbye you have a very abysmal view of humanity. We are terribly clever when our asses our on the line.

Shit, with enough money and international support we could colonize other planets/ moons within a couple decades.

Umm, yeah. I don't know what answer you were expecting from the Escapist community.

Most of these guys are very smart, but if there's one area where the Escapists are ignorant and intolerable, it's with kids. For some reason no one here understands that a child is a child.

OT: I think I'll be in the minority here when I say I like how I am. I don't care for immortality much, and one day I hope to have a little girl with someone I develop a relationship with.

And I someday do not wish to have a child with someone I develop a relationship with.

It's the same principle as you saying 'girl' rather than boy. You would prefer to have a female child. And that's absolutely fine. I would like to have no child. And that *should* be absolutely fine too, and in fact is in... every circle of society. Apart from Jews, I guess... but whatever, I'm rambling.

And by all means, I'm fine with that too. If you don't think you'd like a kid of your own, than that's perfectly fine with me.

I'm just saying that it's strange that with the Escapists, usually a very tolerant and liberal bunch, they just have such a negative view towards children.
