Dude, I could bang Scarlett Johansen, Jessica Biel, AND Jessica Alba all at the same time! Why the hell WOULDN'T I use it for porn?

Yes, some people aren't easily compatible with others, and relationships are often a bunch of bullshit, but I don't think that computers can easily replace the social interaction with other humans, at least not in my lifetime.Sovereignty said:mistergobbles said:I actually think this is what porn is going to hopefully be like in the future. I mean, it could never replace actual loving relationships but you know, when you can have sex with a virtual supermodel whenever you want, why do anything else at all?
Only the super-rich people will be able to own those things, so everyone else will have to go to holodeck places or something. It'll be like in the old days before the internet, when people had to go to adult movie theaters to get their porn. That as well as the spectacular cost it's going to take to use those things might be a downer for some people.
I disagree. Porn CAN and DOES often replace those "Meaningful" (See: Meaningless) relationships for a lot of people. Well porn and hookers.
But seriously some people just aren't easily compatible with others. Or sheep. Some people have personal issues that generally lead them into bad relationships. Some people enjoy being alone over having people around.
I think if holodeck technology was ever invented, we'd probably all end up never leaving our homes. I mean serious. If I can have artificial friends, and lovers, and family members... Wtf am I gonna get real ones for?
Honestly, I was almost laughing too hard to read past that point.Sovereignty said:High-horse syndrome eh?Baby Tea said:I'm sorry, but are you suggesting that there are no meaningful relationships?Sovereignty said:I disagree. Or only that people who find that "porn and hookers" can replace real relationships are less 'able' to engage in a meaningful relationships?
Because if it's the first one, you're beyond wrong. I mean, not subjectively 'it's your opinion' wrong...but objectively, flat out, embarrassingly wrong.
But if it's the second one, I'd be inclined to agree. Those who are able to find comfort in porn probably aren't able to engage in a meaningful relationship, especially given how far from reality porn is.
Watching porn is not a detriment to ones ability to sustain or maintain personal/intimate relationships. The same can be said about people who frequently (Or occasionally) make use of the services of hookers. Maybe your little box doesn't have a window with which you can see out of, but MANY people use the services provided by those two mediums.
Good picks! I am such a nerd but I would have to pick most of the characters from the Star Trek series (all of them...)Hawkeye16 said:Oh, hello Tron Bonne, Jessica Rabbit, White Mage(from 8 bit theater), Harley Quinn, Natalie Portman and Morrigan Aensland! How are you ladies doing this fine evening?
Seconded...Udyrfrykte said:Why not?
It'd be a great place to live out your fantasies. I sure as hell would use it, a lot. I would use it with my girlfriend for instance, to make some of our fantasies come through. Maybe just change up the scenery.
I would try every goddamn act of sex that I don't even think about normally, just because it's safe and private, and I only got one life so why not be curious. I would have a threesome, I would have a foursome, I would participate in a bukkake, I would fuck a japanese schoolgirl, I would skullfuck a japanese schoolgirl, I would get gangbanged by my favorite porn actors, I would get flogged by a german domina named Helga all dressed up in latex, I would take a dump on a table and have a girl eat it, I would be the Hugh Hefner of trannies, I would sit in the middle of a room in a bathtub while 10 virgins puke all over me, I would have sex with an instance of my girlfriend just to mindfuck myself, I would have sex with myself, and I could go on but you get the point.
Also, I wish I could have a filter for different sort of threads where the e-macho guy (you know who you are) pops out and tells us how easily he can have sex so he doesn't need porn or masturbation. We get it, you're a stud and wants us to know. Good for you for having low enough sex drive to have sex when it's convenient or having your girlfriend on a literal leash.
edit: To not freak you all out, I would also note that I would also use it for non-sexual fantasies, such as being a badass in the WH40k universe.

But I did read past it. I kept laughing.
You obviously completely, and seemingly intentionally, misread my post. Maybe not. Either way, you certainly beat the CRAP out of that straw-man. I mean, talk about taking major leaps in how you think I am as a person. Maybe you just like being angry? I don't know. It was just hilarious, though. You're precious.
What I said was 'People who find comfort in porn'. Not 'people who look at porn'.
The difference between the two is pretty significant, especially when you consider the original context of my post. The person I was quoting insinuated that pornography (And hookers) could be a comfort, in the sense of a substitute for a 'meaningful relationship'.
My point I was making, and will stand by, is that anyone who can and does take pornography and meaningless, transacted sex over a real, human relationship is probably unable to function properly in a 'normal' relationship. Maybe I wasn't clear enough, maybe you just saw what you wanted. I don't know.
My point is: I never once said that people who watch porn can't be in normal relationships.
Thanks for the words in my mouth, though.
Again, I think you're purposely misreading my post.Sovereignty said:I mean seriously guy, you're saying people who use porn and/or hookers can't have meaningful relationships... Or that they can't function in them, and that is just BOGUS. Especially when I'm sure more often then not the people who seek the services of hookers are people in relationships. (I have no stats to back this up.)Baby Tea said:My point I was making, and will stand by, is that anyone who can and does take pornography and meaningless, transacted sex over a real, human relationship is probably unable to function properly in a 'normal' relationship. And if your little gripe in your retort was, "I never said everyone couldn't I said some people who use those things couldn't." Then you need to just take a long walk away.
