Poll: Would you use holodeck technology for porn?

O.K. just like it says above; if holodeck technology existed would you use it to fulfill your most perverted ideas? Or would you use it for something else more spiritually fulfilling?

Personally I would be really tempted to re-create all the past girlfriends, hotties I had a crush on back in the day, and hot co-workers and have gratuitous sex with them all day and night. Hmmm probably never get any work done...evil technology.

Judging by the success of the porn industry on the Internet, I think the real question is - would it be used for anything else? Even on Star Trek, it was used for porn. There were several story arcs in ST:TNG where main characters would fall in love with fictional holodeck characters. In DS9 there was a holobrothel.

Quark was the most realistic human on the whole show...DS9 is still my personal favorite Star Trek series.

Porn didn't invent the internet, they where just one of the early business driving the success of the internet.

It would be the same with this. It would be expensive, and a novelty, and an amazing piece of tech. Something the inventor sees as a boon for humanity. Then the porn industry would get their claws into it, prices would drop and soon after there would be one in every home.

I doubt I would use it for porn other than to see how it worked, I think it would be a waste of resources.

That last part isn't true, but there is evidence that whichever medium the porn industry chooses will be the next big thing. It has happened many times over, and will continue to happen until the end of time...Or until we achieve the perfect medium for the distribution of porn, whichever comes first.

wow... you didn't seriously think i (or anyone else) actually believed that porn "invented" the internet, did you? it's a joke, kinda like how Al Gore invented it. however, i do stand by my assertion that sex is a huge motivator, and the desire for better/easier sex will probably lead to something like a holodeck.

OT: I'm in fully agreement with OP except it wouldn't be ex-girlfriends because some of them I just wouldn't want to do that with them. I'd think various porn stars and just random hot girls wouldn't be bad though.
