I'd like to walk the middle path, but I would be far more comfortable as a warrior with my big ol' mace in hand.

despite the fact that i usually play warriors in rpgs, its a toos up between mage and rogue. on the one hand, as a mage i could pretty much have anything i want, look any way i want, and accomplish anything i want, just by thinking about it. but as a rogue i would be very quick, mentally and physically. plus it would be nice to go from socially awkward nerd to charismatic thief

Ok, so picture this, The world has reverted back to medieval times and there is a spirit that appears to everybody and asks them if they want to go down the path warrior, a master of weapons, shields and heavy armor, the rgue, who is quick qitted agile, and stealthy(the archer falls under this) or the mage, who uses magic to accomplish his goals. When I talk about magic I am saying that it is any magic that has ever been seen in movies, videogames, or books.

I would choose the path of the mage. I like the idea of mind over matter, mind has created matter so why should it not have power over it. Magic can make the weak of body yet strong of mind on par with the brutes who would normally rule the medieval ages.
So basicaly you're asking what would you choose if the world became an MMORPG XD?

None.. why? well cause you excluded the Clerics/Priests, nope they aren't included in mage, why? cleric power comes from faith not magic.
Why cleric well you can heal ! also there's the fact that clerics ruled over kings in the medieval ages XD and there's always the "exorcist" kind of cleric ( evil spirit begone!) a cleric is always received in any adventuring party so yeah i want cleric XD.

Rogue, because I'm not strong enough to be a warrior and not smart enough to be a mage.

Plus I've always favored sneaking and using a bow than other stuff :D

Even though I always roll as some sort of thief, assassin, or ranger in games, in real life I'd probably be more of a mage. I'm just a wimpy little girl who isn't particularly strong or agile at all, but I am smart, and studying the arcane arts seems like it would be just my sort of thing. Magic would also have a lot more uses outside of fighting and stealing, which is just fine by me since I'd prefer to avoid conflict if I could, even in a dangerous fantasy world.

I'd pick mage, put on armor, grab a spear and shield, and become a mageknight.
I don't think I could get the same results by picking warrior, as I'm not sure I could get magic.

Being a rogue in medieval times was the best shit ever.

No cameras, finger prints, helicopters, planes, guns, tazers, night vision, thermal vision....

Fuck's sake. It's hardest to be a "rogue" these days.
Let's not forget that the punishment for almost anything was death.

I'd probably be an all powerful rogue bandit who controls a large group of raiders.

Everyone knows its the rogues that get all the prettiest wenches.:D

Depends, really. If magic included mastery of nature, physics and literally anything we've ever seen magic being described as, then mages would break the world in a day. If it was constrained to Skyrim type magic, that sounds boring. I usually played warrior/melee classes in games until Skyrim, until I came to love the light armour wearing, sharpshooting, swashbuckling ranger/assassin that I put together. This seems like the ideal choice. Assuming of course that I had the skill and agility to use a bow and stay in the shadows, which I don't IRL.

If picking mage is the only way to get magic spells, pick that and just train with heavy armor and weapons anyway.

Don't know why you would be anything that couldn't use magic, why lead a horde of bandits if one wizard can rain fire from the sky and kill your entire camp?

Mage is a user of magic and magic is magic no matter where it comes form, whether it comes from some arcane thingmabob or whether it comes a god.
