Fuck no. Fuck to the hell no. Bioware is no longer allowed to touch this series again, unless they free themselves from EA's grasp. I can already see it now, combat will be real-time instead of that round combat they had, open world filled with boring quests, and a voiced protagonist.

Unless KotOR is pretty much like the previous two games with a fresh coat of paint, a new story, and companions. I don't want it made. Obsidian should be given control if anyone will be making it.
What is wrong with real time combat exactly? What if, say the combat was like the Jedi Academy in a hypothetical KotoR game by Bioware?
Because this is a series that works with round based combat and not real time combat. Changing that would be for me if the next Civilization just decided to become an RTS.

I have no qualms with real time combat, the Darth Maul game that was cancelled looked fantastic, but not in my KotOR. EA can make another series if they want to do that.

No, I'd want Bioware to try their hand at something new. Try and break out of their pattern for once. Not another fucking KOTOR game of all bloody things.

If someone else wants to make a KOTOR game I couldn't care less one way or the other. Give it to Telltale or something.
For the love of god, don't let telltale do it. Maybe if there was a joint effort, Tell tale could write a great story, then a company that makes more gamey games can make the gameplay and choices. I would hat to have a kotor game where the writing is great but nothing matters.

When I first played Mass Effect, I was impressed with the visuals and world design, and sighed heartily at how much better/cooler KotOR III would've been...

But now? I'm still a BioWare 'fan', and still roll my eyes at the whining/moaning/bitching people aim at the company these days, but DA:I as a piece of core design was just awful. It was stupid and lacking in any ambition (still loved most of the characters and the character writing, though, and the gameplay could be inane fun once you came to terms with it).

If Andromeda comes out and isn't plagued by the issues that made DA:I so vapid and empty, then hells yes I still want BioWare to make a third KotOR. If it continues their design trajectory? Then no, let Obsidian do it - and give them enough time, money, and help so that they can finish it properly.

Nope. I really enjoy Bioware's work, but like Zhukov says, I'd want to see them try their hand at something different.

Obviously Obsidian is where it's at, you know with a big budget, enough time and a good editor to make sure they stay realistic, although Pillar of Eternity turned out okay even with a tiny budget, so maybe they've gotten better at it.

Not Bioware, please. And yeah DA:O >>>>>> DA2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>DA:I.

1. I'm not sure I want ANYTHING from nu-Bioware, they've lost whatever spark they once had. Perhaps that's excessive...I might have been okay with Inquisition if I'd gotten it for $10 in a sale or something...but lord knows I'm not excited to see any further fruits of their efforts.

2. I'm almost as sick of Obsidian as I am of Bioware, frankly. Their reputation as the last bastion of RPG pureness feels increasingly unearned as they churn out uninspired effort after effort. There's always something to hate about their games, they're buggy and half-finished most of the time, and their technical ambitions seem to slide backwards with every passing year.

3. I was never a fan of the KOTOR setting. I'd want something in the new post OT setting, preferably low-Force.

Wait, there was C&C3?! Heh, next you'll say there was Red Alert 3 as well, and then a shitty as hell half-assed C&C4! Hahaha, what a joker you are!

No I would have little interest in it, but I wouldn't mind it either. The last game they made I like was DA:O, so how they spend or waste their time is fairy meaningless to me.

Ever since Mass Effect 3, I've been disappointed by pretty much everything from Bioware. So my answer is obviously "No".

I'm not sure I trust them either at this point. RA3 was pretty much just really silly
That was made by not-Westwood.

and I've heard nothing good about Tiberium Twilight.
Coincidentally, also made by the same.

Sure, the EA Los Angeles employed some of people who worked for the late Westwood at the time but I don't think anybody can call that studio "Westwood" in good conscience.

Not Bioware! At least not with EA's hand gripped quite firmly around their increasingly shriveled balls. The potential DLC flood and season pass shit is already giving me a headache.
I'm not really certain that Obsidian has what it takes to make KOTOR 3 either. KOTOR 2 was a janky mess at the best of times: Some very good writing mixed with serviceable combat, too much missing content and an unbelievably disappointing third act.

No, BioWare hasn't made a great game since Mass Effect 2. All you have to do is play Knights of the Fallen Empire and Dragon Age III to see how they'd mess it up. Once again, the main character would be the specialest snowflake in the whole galaxy, and half of all character interactions would consist of accepting complements from your followers, the quests will be heavily MMOified with quantity emphasized over quality in order to drag the game out too long for people to play it and immediately return it, and in place of well written quests, there would be dozens of hours of boring menu based army management minigames.

No thanks. BioWare really should just bite the bullet already and start making romance visual novels. With tacked on multiplayer and micro transactions, of course.

Sure thing.
SW:ToR is basically already that... and is going there even stronger with the release of Knights of the Fallen Empire.
Even though I would of course prefer a proper single player game without a monthly subscription.
Is Knights of the Fallen Empire gona change up the Vanilla content Catacylsm style?

I can't be the only one who'd buy "Sakura Turian" from Origin, given they don't censor the H scenes.

No, Bioware wasn't been good in while. I disagree that DAI was better than DA2, I thought for all it's faults at least DA2 wasn't boring unlike DAI which you need to grind your way to the interesting bits...And I fear that Mass Effect Andromeda may be the same.
But the threat it's not about that. I am a very much a advocate to the Kotor needs a proper sequel, a remake\reboot or at very LEAST and update patch so it runs without problems in newer systems. (Oddly enough I was playing it when I say this threat pop up... on a awful resolution and in windowed mode because that's the only way I can run. SERIOUSLY WHERE'S THAT PATCH?). But I would like to Obsidian to it, they had interesting themes and ideas for the series (That sadly got crushed because of greed and idiocracy) and I love to see them realised proper.
I am quoting for truth. The new BioWare is a wholly owned EA subsidiary. That means cramming multiplayer in where it doesn't belong, microtransactions and DLCs up the wazoo. EA bought them for their IPs, and that strictly means Mass Effect, Dragon Age and ongoing support for SWTOR. All BW will likely ever do from now on, is churn those out.

I would love to see a KotOR3...I enjoyed the deep RPG, SW story and D20 mechanics. But it's never going to happen. As well as needing a greenlight from Disney, which will probably never happen, it encroaches on the SWTOR time period. Without a collaboration (that will never happen), when could it be set? Pre-Revan? Post-Outcast/Pre-SWTOR? Post-SWTOR?

A new KotOR would be great, made by Obsidian without a time-constraint, it would be delightful. But the chances of it happening are so close to zero that I would call it impossible. I'll be glad to be proven wrong, but I know I won't be.

Ebon Hawk for love interest or pre-order cancelled!

I'd say give it to Obsidian instead, not because BioWare got worse lately (not considerably anyway), but because Obsidian legitimately made a better KotOR game (just so long as you mod in all the cut content). Get them to make KotOR, it will be great.

One little problem though...

Where is it going to be set? After 2 but before TOR? After TOR? During the events of TOR? The Revan novels by Drew Karpyshyn and TOR more or less covered this period completely. You could try to set it slightly before the prequel era, with no Sith and just an evil warlord that's attacking the Republic and the Jedi Council sending you to stop him, along the way you assemble a party of three more Jedi, a smuggler, a bounty hunter, a Republic Soldier, a Utility Droid (that makes up 9 party members). Or alternatively just make an RPG where you go around helping people and fighting bad guys. Instead of one overarching quest line, you've got several small ones that you tackle one at a time. A quest line about a criminal organization in Coruscant, a quest line about freeing slaves in Ryloth, a quest about saving a small Republic colony from a group of pirates and it all culminates with you either becoming a new Sith Lord (if Dark Side), or you take your place on the Jedi Council (if Light Side).

Actually I really want that second one to be KotOR 3, get Obsidian on it now!
