I'm unsure as to the point of this thread. Is this for non Americans? As an American, the question really shouldn't be would I like my country to become a vassal of another. It is unrealistic. The more likely scenario is that one or all of those countries might become vassals of US. (Barring England. I don't really see that as being a logical choice for them either).

America will spell correct english (metre NOT meter and you're missing a u in colour!)
Thats fair. And When England actually speaks the English language properly (such as not adding R sounds to words with an A and other things that do not belong) then the Americans will write the language the way the English expect. (though I thought adding a U to color was mostly french influence, not english.)

Cant have a high and mighty expectation, if your just as guilty of things just as bad.

The real question is: Who would WANT to merge? 14 Trillion in debt, and cry socialism when taxes even fidget, or healthcare services are offered.

And I chose England for the irony.

I don't care. And I obviously don't have the mental capabilities to think for myself because I'm American, living with my 15 siblings, eating cheeseburgers, and I'm going to hunt deer in the morning.

The U.S. should not join any one country. The U.S. should use its influence to be a founder of an international confederacy of nations which will be greater than any single nation ever has been. First we should invite other developed nations. Consolidate stability and power. Later developing nations. Use the resources of the confederacy to help bring them to strength.

Then, finally, once absolute strength of the confederacy is assured, we bring in undeveloped powers and bring them up to par with our excess.

The world united under one banner.

Someone else posted a "would you like your country to be annexed by the US" thread earlier, this is the inevitable "reply".

UK English and American English aren't the same thing, meter and color are just fine over here.

OT:...I'm an American, so no, I hope we never get annexed by another country. That could potentially suck.

The question is, does anyone else want them?
Not blind hate, more to do with debt.

Isn't the USA very similar to a commonwealth? You, in that it's a multitude of states with one government. So, in that case wouldn't it make more sense that one or more states would join another nation, or that another nation/ region join the US? Yeah, I know I'm being a spoil-sport here, I'll just leave through the back.

I picked China so we can work out our problems with the debt.

Although we already occupy Japan.

Uh,what?Back to belonging to England?Unite itself with Mexico? Were you high when you came up with the idea for this thread? We all know that China's gonna buy the US pretty soon,so I'm surprised it's not THE ONLY option in the poll(no,in all seriousness, only about 7% of the american debt is owed to China, and obviously,I'd want it to stay independant as it is.It's the most powerful country in the world, and you think it could unite itself with Mexico?Whaaaaat?)

I feel the total opposite and think that the states should become more independent, and become countries in their own right. The fact that all these states are classified as american bogs the places down with one large inaccurate stereotype. If america began to split up it could remove a large portion of the hate that the country gets.

Sigh... Seriously, not being a troll here, but f*ck off Communist (not a personal insult, nor the curses of a right-wing mad man).
I'm sorry, but that's a terrible idea. It won't achieve anything except discontentment. Peace is achievable through other means than establishing a global nation. It's called the UN. However, before I continue my argument, may I ask what method of government you would envision in this dream world of yours?

Being soverign is a nice trick. I wouldn't think forgetting it would be a good idea.

Funny how Britain has the "correct" English when internationally people learn English from Americans to speak to Americans, especially in business. Linguistically, British English is going the way of the Imperial measurement system (which I agree the US needs to phase out); only one country in the world seems to be using it.

No Fucking Way would I want to join with Mexico, China, England, or Canada, and I would like to emphasis not wanting to join with England or Canada. If I had to pick one japan might be cool, but I would rather keep our independence.
