Shant really affect me, I only played it for a couple of weeks and only got to level 20 before I was quite frankly bored. But each to their own I guess, I was just burned out of it after a short period of time.

I remember grinding to lvl 40. It was awesome. "Oh Herra my dual wielding Night Elf Huntress and my Raptor. How I miss you so." ... Yup I'm officially a nerd.

I've been playing WoW since 2006 and like other people who've been playing a long time can still remember the feeling of grinding scarlet monastery to get to level 40 to get your mount, they remember when they couldn't wait to step through the dark portal. We are the people who know the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor well and can picture each zone in our head. We ride up to Goldshire or through Ashenvale and feel like we're home.

However, Cataclysm looks to change these continents to a more fiery, red type theme. Now this is both good and bad IMO. WoW does need more as always and I do think the older content needs an update, but new players won't get to see the world in the glory and beauty that we did.

I kind of feel like its coming to the end of an era and i'm not so sure if im going to like how the world will look.

Does anyone else feel the same?
I've been playing since Vanilla WoW and I can say that I remember the grind to 40 to get my Felsteed. Its just crazy as it is, mounts at level 20, under 100g, the heirloom items make it more then laughable to level. The one thing I wish they didn't take out was the Paladin and Warlock Epic Mount quest. I can't remember how many hours I lost trying to grind all the materials and gold for my Dreadsteed, and now I see Warlocks running all over with theirs by just going to the trainer.

It looks brilliant. I spend a lot of time around the barrens so it's going to be very exciting. Hopefully all the ally raiders will stop attacking it.
Its only a furrie if you roll it on a RP server.

OT/ Im excited enough to not quit yet. But it better do some awsome things.

I cant wait to get back to my 56 palidan and finish him off. the expansion looks class to me.

Used to make 400-500g a week just mining all the time, i controlled the market on my server just selling all the ore without smelting it.

It looks interesting, and looking forward to Netherwing, only thing that I am not really sure about is the goblin race. Worgen have a reason to start fighting, they want to become humans again, but I don't know about the Goblins, seems odd for me that they are going horde since they earned money from both factions from being neutral. Don't see what they can earn on it by going horde.

And maybe blizz has posted why Goblins join horde and I haven't seen it...

EDIT: And archeology sounds both interesting and "grindish" like a miner:p
As far as I know, it's only one faction of goblins that are joining the Horde, the rest are staying neutral.

I'd have to say, I'm definitely looking forward to it.

I was skeptical at first, I thought that the source was kidding around. Orc Mage? Worgen? It seemed fabricated.

Now, though, I can't wait.

But I can't help thinking that WOW is running out of ideas. I'm sure they're thinking of the next one as they work on Cataclysm, but where do you go from there? Another planet like Outland, or do you find more territory on Azeroth?

Personally, I hope they find another planet, with new and fantastical creatures.

i think there are some cool ideas coming out, but the thing that i dont like is the way they are messing with all the classes, Tauren Paladin?!?! i also like getting new races alot of fun, but those races being able to be any class? i dont know, call me old school... i like having certain class for certain races, and on that; Certain gear for said classes. To many people have bitched and moaned and now most gear is not class specific which IMO is retarded. but like i said... thats just me :)

I agree with what a lot of people have said in that it should go back to having to wait till higher levels for mounts and them being things that take time to get. I mean now, having a mount is just meh, but once it was a right of passage.

I also agree that they should restrict the classes and races and what armor/weapons they can use.

I can't believe I came back to this thread for a 4th time, and still refuse to post in it.

Actually, I'll just link to this. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/columns/view-from-the-road/6551-A-View-From-the-Road-Cry-Less-Noob]

And say that I feel mixed about the zones being torn apart, but honestly, it's probably best for the game.

The only thing I could dislike is that Goblin isn't a neutral race anymore. Loved them when they were random mercenaries with lots of explosives. They should have kept them neutral, and let the player decide which side he is on. But worgen are pretty too, so i dont complain to much :p

I may just go back to wow if cataclysm is all that (hell never got to see all of tbc nevermind wotlk) back whne I was playing though I always thought the old content needed updating seriously Onyxia, Molten Core, Blackwing Lair and Naxx were some of the best moments of gaming I have ever experianced.

You guys do know that classes and races and armor/weapons ARE still restricted, right? No Tauren Mages in plate :p

Class specific gear was taken away from random drops so that people actually receiving gear wasn't dependent on a coin toss. Sharding druid helms off Onyxia 8 weeks in a row in vanilla WoW wasn't exactly my idea of progressive raiding.

awesome quests in TBC
TBC quests were worse than Vanilla WoW quests.

However Wotlk quests ruled.
After going back to Classic for my achievement, I have to disagree. Original WoW quests are so painful.

I said no, but for some odd different reasons. Mostly the scaling. Blizzard has said more health will be the answer again, and even right now in WotLK, its getting to a kind of painful number. Same with the other stats. For some reason, managing 75k HP just doesn't sound fun.

On the other hand, if they fixed that inflation, I'd be great. The old world overhaul looks awesome, and if they handle questing in any way similar to Icecrown, I might still be sold.
