I think it's a good thing.
Things will go faster, and it won't feel as like your a turtle walking trough syrup.

For anyone who bought before this patch, There pissed. I'm not since I didn't bother farming until the late forties so I could barly squeeze by the 300g marker.

Honestly I don't see why the 30 to 20 drop was neccary. It will just make people save there money knowthing that the mount is so close. My other complaint is that due to the drop many players won't have a choice in mounts. Back when it was in the 40s players usally could earn enough rep to buy which ever mount they wanted. But in the 30s you were usally no where near Exalted. Now with it being in the twenties most of the players won't even be honored.

I don't play anymore. But I always thought it was the journey to getting your mount which made it all the more valuable. I remember my first mount (level 40), and how hard I had to work to find enough different rare herbs to sell. I always valued the effort put into getting the mount. And if it is going to be made easier, well, I feel bad for the people who won't have the chance to admire the amount of energy and effort put into getting their first mount.

Of course, they won't realize the point to my argument. All the old-time players who already have there main set up and are starting a new character won't mind. And any new player will be excited to get a mount.

Personally, I couldn't care less if someone comes to appreciate their own determination or not at this point. All I know is, I have learned to respect the determination I have, from playing WoW, and it almost does kind of help you out in real life.

But not really.

I bought my epic mount on my shaman for 600g 2 days before the patch notes hit. Was annoyed at first, but I guess it's an improvement. This might help stop my hate of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms.

Don't even get me started on the atrocious raid instance that is Molten Bore or Vanilla WoW balance (Do you have a heal button? You're a healer. Are you a warrior? You're a tank. Everyone else is DPS. No exceptions.)
At last somebody else gets it. Vanilla WoW, while the basis of the best MMO in the world, had so many problems and frustrations it's a wonder people actually put up with them.

I'm going to put it plain and simple, Vanilla WoW sucked compared to what it has become over the last two expansions.

Just because they ironed out the kinks that makes it worse? That because they've, overtime, opened up the more difficult content for those that aren't as committed as you are, that the game is easier? For God's sake take pride in how you were one of the first to do or own something. I was one of the first on my server to get a netherdrake, over a few months everyone had one. Does that bother me? No, because I knew overtime those less committed people would earn one to, and I'm proud I was one of the first.

There's more variety, more content, more story and it's more fun then it's ever been. Stop whinning and enjoy it for what it is.

I can't say I'm opposed to the idea so everyone has to suffer as I did (back when duskwood had one graveyard GAHHH), but rather its a small escalation in a already big problem thats happening lately with WoW. being that they're making it to easy for noobies to level up which sounds good on paper, and gets more into the game but in the long run it just makes a player who doesn't know his class as well as someone who had played gone through that hellacious grind.

maybe bit of my old elitism cropping up but tired of quadrupling someones dps while i'm in crap gear while watching them spam some useless ability or no abilities at all (auto-attack), getting a bit long winded but i guess "Back in my day" kinda applies we had it worse we found new ways with our respective classes to get around them.

Oh yes there is.

Allow me to demonstrate:

I agree. I remember grinding Scarlet Monastery from 33 to 40 to get my mount, it was a lot of effort but good fun. I am quite angry at the changes tbh, they should bring in more things at the later levels instead.

Also i loved the thrill of walking through Duskwood. bleh, WoW is getting easier and easier all the time. Soon it'll be full of Nintendo fanboys.

Gah! No! i hate the idea, seriously its just the thought of any Noob not knowing anything about whats going on can get to 60-70ish these days in about a week or 2 with these constant nerfs.
Levelling has never taken any form of skill. Ever.

Levelling is just a thinly veiled grind. (<-- spoken by an actual Warcraft fan)

WELLLLLLLL, back in my day or raiding... thats when Molten Core and Black Wing Lair were considered HARDCORE!!! everything you had to do to experience that was earned!!! thats why i quit WoW, as gettin attuned for dungeons came free, i felt ripped off for all that hardwork i did and thought "F*ck it, im a get a social life, and 40 man that for a bit" still workin for my Tier 2 set in RL though :(
Don't even get me started on the atrocious raid instance that is Molten Bore or Vanilla WoW balance (Do you have a heal button? You're a healer. Are you a warrior? You're a tank. Everyone else is DPS. No exceptions.)

With Blessing of Kings as a 31 point Retridin talent. Lacerate (77 damage over 21 seconds. 11/tick) was the 31 point Hunter Survival Talent.

When all Paladin blessings were individual only, lasted five minutes and had to be cast on forty separate people. When druids were brought along to Innervate priests and battle res the stupid DPS and maybe toss out the occasional heal. When only Dwarf priests had Fear Ward and thus were so much more valuable than any of the other five priest races which caused endless whines on the forums about how Alliance tanks had it easier because they didn't have to stance dance on Onyxia/Nefarian/Magmadar/any other fear bosses.

When you would spend months gearing up your MT and then he'd decide to jump guild and because you'd been showering your precious MT with epics you'd have to start farming MC again to get him the gear.

When only Cenarion and Felheart would drop.

When one of the morons who was AFK (because in any one Molten Snore raid, about 15 of the 40 were AFK at any point) manages to blow up your entire raid on Geddon.

Oh yes, I remember Molten Core. I just wish I didn't.
You are so very right.
Thankfully I never experienced end game vanilla WoW content, I peaked end game in the first expansion, and thoroughly enjoyed that, mostly because of the addition of a few 10 man raids.

I cannot imagine how frustrating it would be to gather 40 people and try and organise them. On top of that, since the dawn of achievements in WoW, I've gone back and tried most of the end game vanilla content, and it is utterly boring. The boss fights are so stale and bland compared to most of the expansions (both) content.

As for the mounts, this is good news; having to run on foot everywhere up until level 40 was a massive pain in the ass. And it is so amazing that they finally increased the speed of the standard flying skill, flying over a map at a speed of 40% slower than your ground mount was one of the most mind numbing experiences in the game.

I agree with what this man said. I had to get my mount at 40 and I was damn well pleased with it! I agree with the level 20 for reg mount. But not the level 60 mount change. When you get your level 60 mount in WoW, its as if you transend the pitiful losers who only have their level 40 mount. You can outrun anything besides a paladin. It feels good. And also above all, you worked for it. You sweated blood and sweat to get that mount.

Yes but surely, from a gameplay standpoint, making the players "sweat blood and sweat" (you may have meant tears) isn't actually a good thing?
I mean every argument against the mount changes basically boils down to "Grinding for mounts sucked, and for some reason, I feel the need to ensure everyone else endures that suck too"

You can't sweat tears. Thats just crazy talk.

I was mostly kidding because I think its good that blizzard is finally lowering what was the most annoying thing in WoW besides 20000 for that damn mammoth. I also recently quit WoW and I couldn't care less about it.

Zero punctuation indeed.

Seriously, why do you hate commas?
