I was watching a episode of CheckPoint called Games & Movies on Penny Arcade. It was about the Sonic and Megaman have a Universe crossover thing. I learned from that eppisope that it is just not one but, two Sonic the Hedgehog Comics out there that is still being published even today. That blew my mind, what do you think?

Really? Brings back fond memories...

I just sort of imagined that the comics stopped when the game franchise took a turn for the worst.

I remember my mom getting me one of those while I was growing up....I thought they died so long ago. Also I just realized they never made a game about them......

I used to subscribe to them when I was a kid. Think I stopped reading around the time Sonic "died" and had adventures in space. I prefer the simplicity of the game's storylines. It just seems weird to see Sonic and crew being all dramatic and love dodecahedron-y.

Still a reader and have been since I was a kid. Archie Sonic the Hedgehog #1 was the first comic I ever bought.

All the bullshit with Ken Penders and Archie's internal disputes aside, Archie Sonic has never been better. The current writer, Ian Flynn, has done some amazing things with the story and really turned the book in a fun direction. If you've never read or haven't read in a while, I'd recommend sitting down with some of the newer issues.

Whatever you do, if somebody tells you they are still reading them religiously today, don't let them get started. If they don't try to, fine. You are talking to a perfectly normal person who has an unusual love of sonic the comic. If they just stay awkwardly silent, walk away. Either they're feeling awkward about it, or they are preparing to lecture you. If they start talking about it, and do not recognise any signs of you being disinterested, run. You will want to kill them via a thousand papercuts if you listen to more than five minutes of it. Trust me on this. Those kind of fans exhibit a special kind of obsessiveness.

Now that's over and done with, I had a couple of issues when I was a kid. Largely harmless at the time, then again, that was when it was just sonic and a handful of other characters. I vaguely remember getting one when sega were just starting to add extra, unneccessary characters, and seeing them trying to justify them, even at that age, was a mindfuck to behold.

I'm one of those fans who normally just says what I said in my last post and leaves it at that. If someone is interested in reading, great, I've got a few of the archive editions, they can bum them off me (assuming this is someone I know). If they aren't, eh.

Although I've run into these wide eye'd religious fans before and it's never fun. The one time I was asked by someone to explains something about a specific part of the story, I just laughed and said "It'll be easier on both of us if you just go read it, trust me on this one."

That's fine, like I said. I had to live with one of the latter types last year at uni. Those kind of people never seem to get that you don't give a crap, y'know?

To be honest, you can usually see these people coming. A quick test is if they're wearing an Ash ketchum hat. If they don't mention it, you are safe. If they mention it once, you are safe. If they won't stop saying "HEY LOOK AT MY ASH KETCHUM HAT IT'S FROM POKEMON LOOK I'M GOING TO DO THE WHOLE TURN MY CAP BACKWARDS THING NOW!" then run.

Being sleep deprived is interesting.

Sonic was my first comic series. Think I stopped reading it around when Sonic Adventure 2 came out. It was on the decline and my tastes had matured :p

I wish the Fleetway comics went on for longer, always much preferred them to the Archie comics. There's the "unofficially official" online continuation I suppose, but it's just not the same D=

The last arc of the print comics was a pretty spectacular way to go out, though.

People actually read Sonic?
All you did was hold down the right button until he bumped into something and had to jump.

More disappointed that the Fleetway comic is only in Fan continuation. Bring back fleetway Sonic *picket*
He was a moody asshole and I loved him.

Even loving SatAM I can't stand the archie version.
