Have you ever been screwed over by a game? Not in buying but in doing something that would up either giving you a different outcome than what you expected or by misjudging the game's thinking. For example, in Bioshock 2

I didn't want to kills Stanley Poole out right so i planned on setting Trap Rivets around him so that he couldn't move. The first one I shot killed him even though it was aimed at the control panel behind him WTF?

Another example, is let's in a shooter You see an enemy with a powerful, nice weapon that you'd like so you carefully take your time expending ammo and picking off enemies only to find that when you kill him you cannot find his weapon.

Wonderful, right?

GTA 4 on the PC. Gee, thanks. I can't use the police computers, so now I can't finish the game.

Yeah. In Borderlands I once killed a boss enemy named "Jaynis Kobb" and the gun he gave me was called.....the meat grinder? Where the hell is my Vera! And why did the gun suck?

Countless glitches in Oblivion have yielded me from completing quests.

I got the glitch for the Skingrad recommendation for the Mage's Guild when

you go in the well looking for the ring that's supposed to be on the apprentice's body, but there's nothing there.

Thanks Oblivion, now I can never finish the Mage's guild quest line.

Any game where the Random Number Goddess holds a grudge against you. Seriously, I get hit with the unlikelyest chances of actual doing so. Such as 9% and criticaled for 2%.

Is Oblivion really worth the price, even if it comes with BioShock (the sorta crap PC version)?

Of course it is, just be sure to save a lot.

The tons of possible glitches in the game don't bring down the over all joy I got out of it.

I've played through 4 times now and I've racked up about *checks time*...2400 hours all together.

So yeah, its amazing.

Should I get the Xbox or PC version?

I'd normally say go for the console version with most games, but since I detest Xbox (no offense) and Oblivion was made to be played on a PC, go for PC.

There are far fewer glitches, the graphics are better, and you can use cheats and mods unlike the console versions.

And get the Game of the Year edition since it comes with 2 expansion packs.

I don't think I've ever had something like that happen to me, honestly.

Ha, I found out the hard way in Star Ocean (for PS2) that I wasn't nice enough to any one and no one wanted to kill the final boss with me except the most useless characters in the entire game.

Same quest for me.

I looted the ring, but accidentally dropped it. Good luck finding it in the well.

Almost impossible, but I managed to do it.

Having a night eye ring helps when looking for stuff.

So we're talking about gaming screw-overs eh? Can anyone say Battletoads on the NES and it's infamous Turbo Tunnel.

I'll also in for me in Left 4 Dead when i traverse over half the map because i can hear a boomer approaching. I keep following that gurgling sound into every door, hallway, outhouse, safe house, and warehouse (quoting the fugitive here) but still can't find the son of a ***** then i suddenly get vomited on and the horde proceeds to kill me....

What happened to me was that in the Thieves Guild quest when you have to talk to some Orc butler to work in the Skingrad castle to talk with a prisoner there the damn Orc was NOWHERE!!! I looked everywhere and even looked up Gamefaqs but he was nowhere where he was supposed to be. I dominated every other guild and the entire game but not being able to finish the Thieves Guild questline sucks!

I was attempting to rush through Two Worlds. But for some reason I can't lockpick this one guy's house to find some incriminating evidence.
Since the alternative isn't obvious to me, and I don't know the cheat codes, I guess I'll never finish it. But Oblivion is better anyway.

In Oblivion it's easy to understand the game, and knowing basic cheat codes helps you get around most glitches but...
I sure wish I'd known the Noclip code when I got stuck between some rocks after starting off for the first time a few years ago. Even if it did drive home the "Save often" lesson.

Oblivion In one of the Ayleid ruins that holds a Statue there is a floor panel you can hit that locks you in with no way out and forces you to reload.

After that mishap I always save before going in ayleid ruins, just incase the autosave doesn't activate.

My favorite happened not to me, but to a friend of mine. After several hours of playing Disgaea II and not saving, he called a senate meeting. In the meeting, Etna was put forth to become the main character. He loved Etna from the first game. She was his favorite character. So, he voted yes and the game ended. He lost hours of game play because he hadn't saved and because he wanted her to be the main character. I thought it was hysterical, he thought it sucked. :)
