I remember when it first existed and everyone (well everyone i knew) gave people good reviews.
Even then we saw it was pointless, as if ur a dick OTHER DICKS will give u good reviews.

ok so befor posting read this becuase i will explain why i think it should recently alot i been playying cod 4 on the 360 and been getting the avg of about 18kills and 10 deaths before i started playying on live again my rep was at 75% positive and 25% negative and now a week later my rep is 80% negitive and 20% positive now before you say i must be a real ass then iam not i dont use a mic so no bad languge dont teabag(noobish in itsself) all i do is play the game now i whant to know what you guys think do you think that people abuse the rep system or have i magicly done some abuse that i didant know about and most of the bad rep was under as bad lanuge btw
Maybe its because of your gammertag? Is it offensive?
Maybe its because you are stealing kills but not even knowing it?
Maybe its because you don't have a mic and want to talk to their hero and they think you are ignoring them so they do the whole hate thing...

That?s all I could think off......

Grammar, OP, grammar.

I think that rep is bullshit.

I don't know about you guys but I almost never use it unless someone really annoys me. Now if you compare the amount of people that you play with through random games and the amount of people who give out bad reps, then those percentages have got to be off. I mean it has got to be thousands against hundreds.

Or maybe people weren't what I thought they were...

But if they were such D-bags then why would you want to play with them again? It lessens the likelihood of matching each other up again. Or so they say.

I think it should be scrapped because you get people who get butthurt, just because you beat them, so they decide to give you bad rep.

For example, i only talk on the mic when i'm with friends and yet most of my bad rep is in distruptive communications/foul language or whatever its called.

Its such an easy system to abuse.

It's a pointless system. Microsoft claims that it helps determine who you will be matched up with in games but it really dosen't. For example. I was playing halo and I avoided this loser who was yelling into his mic all game. It was a ffa gametype so you could play against 8 players and I matched up with him for 4 matches straight. I only lost him when I switched gametypes.

my rep is at 100% I think but thats because I got two or three good ratings and no one had gone through the hassle of giving me a negative one

Yes.
Rep is pointless. Think about it: Would you really stop playing a match if someone with 1 star rep joined in? Of course not.

It's one of those things that I'm amazed anyone actually pays attention to anymore, like the whole 'gamer zone' thing (who honestly sits there and thinks 'hmm...they put themself down as a underground gamer...they must be an ammoral, ruthless fucknut with a headset and social problems!).

Whether we keep or it scrap it doesn't matter, it won't make much of a difference to anyone.

Personally, I've never really understood what the purpose of this "rep" is supposed to be. It can't be to attract gamers of a like mind, because it's not something that can be seen without interrupting the game in question. It seems has no bearing on gameplay itself. It changes nothing of the online experience. The only purpose it seems to serve is to identify one's skill, or lack thereof, at gaming... And I believe that was the purpose of Achievements.

I say do away with it.

Its pretty much useless because other players can't tell what you rep sheet is like, and you can't tell who reported you.

If you dislike it enough to get rid of it, ignore it. You think people look at your 80% rep and say, 'hhmmm, this guy seems rude! I shall betray him!'

True enough, but I think instead of MS wasting their time creating the rep system, they could have instead thought of ways to keep 360's from dying a horrible death. That's just my opinion though.

I personally think the rep system is an inherently good idea, but it's wrecked by the inherently bad crowd.

I don't understand the Rep Thingy. It says like 60% of people hate me, but I still have 5 stars. The hell?
If someone doesn't post a review about you, it counts it as positive.

That whole percentage thing is a percentage of the people who reviewed you. I think I've got 75% avoided me, but still 5 stars :p

What would they put in there in place of the stars? Your gamertag would just look barren without them...

No because i'm not fussed about my rep, mine is shit something like 40% actually like me. I couldn't care less what people say about me because they can't see it.

Also does anyone care about their rep?
I don't. If people like me, they like me. If they don't, they don't. Simple as that.
