Ah, Poe's Law strikes everywhere (not just in fundamentalist discussions). My mistake.Nouw said:I was going for a joking tone, the last sentence claiming it can be saved really, but looking back on it it isn't clear enough and that's my fault. In hindsight I should have added 'on a more serious note,' to my next paragraph.Lightknight said:How would the company that continues to have problems with people not knowing that their console is a new console somehow be the winner here? Terrible sales aside (despite them usually being proportionate to marketing success), Nintendo readily admits their failures in this area.Nouw said:Surprised this hasn't been covered by the Escapist yet. Come on lads, Wii and U can save it.
This is the most legitimate reason to vote for Nintendo I've seen. Perhaps the only one.loc978 said:...I'm going with Nintendo, simply because none of their ads have ever made me feel sick (though that unholy offspring of an iPad and a DS that they call a controller is still unforgivable).
This is a thread about the best MARKETING campaign. Not console, not games.Ashadowpie said:even though i hate the gimmicks and bullshit Nintendo has been playing around these past years im going with Nintendo is the better console for GAMES
Sure, but so are the PS3 and 360. The WiiU even has the same CPU as the 360 (very similar) with only 512 more MBs for gaming RAM.Nintendo on the other hand, yah its graphically better then the Wii and you can ACTUALLY SEE A DIFFERENCE!
I mostly agree. But the consoles have only been out for just over a month now. The WiiU has been out for over a year with very little to show for it. They've got maybe five games to show for it and one of those is just an HD remake. Sony has several titles that I'm excited about. Killzone is it's own brand, Infamous is near release. 1886 is looking fun. XBO has its Dead Rising and Titan Fall looks promising.what does the PS4/Xbone have? 2 major generic shooters with nothing but a pretty face, and games you can buy for the previous consoles.
We'll see. But remember that they also have a huge list of multi-platform games that people love but won't be showing up on the WiiU. For example, Grand Theft Auto V.
From a "winning" perspective, numbers are all that matter.Nintendo's winning, just not in the numbers, not yet anyways.
