I'm going to get Bastion and From Dust and want to know if there are any major differences between their XBox and PC versions. I've heard that From Dust on the PC has some bad DRM and is overall a bad port so I'm already leaning toward the Xbox on that game but I haven't heard anything about Bastion. I'd like some opinions before deciding. If both versions are good, I'll just get the PC version.

Thank you to any who help.

The only reviews I've seen are on the XBLA versions and I saw some generally good feedback so I'd probably go with the 360 versions.

I have Bastion on PC and it kicks ass, I've also seen screenies of From Dust on PC and they looked really good. I say get both for PC.

Bastion looks like a console game, and I imagine would control better on console too. Then again, I have an adapter that lets me use my 360 controller on my PC, so it makes no difference anymore.

From Dust looks like a top down game, which pretty much guarantees it'll be easier to play with a mouse.

All I can offer is that Bastion works fine on PC.

By the way, it's a surprisingly good game.

Sorry for the late reply, I fell asleep after making the thread. Thanks for all the advice, from what's been said I think I'll get Bastion on the PC and From Dust on XBox.

Get both on consoles. The PC version of From Dust has some very clunky controls. And Bastion is available only on Steam. It's miserable when you're forced to give Steam money.

Just out of interest why is it miserable to be "forced to give steam money"? Most PC players would want all of their games as part of the steam client.

OT: Basically what everyone else has said, From Dust PC port is poor so stick to the console. Bastion you could pretty much go either way as there's no definite advantage from either version.

For Bastion I recommend PC because guns control a lot better, It also feels a lot nicer to do listen to the story from the peace and quiet of your PC (based on the assumption that you have peace when you use your PC). Also bastion is an AMAZING GAME so enjoy.

From dust is pretty da,mn bad on pc stick to xbla.

Not sure if they changed it but it seems like From Dust sucks with the PC version. I think they even allowed refunds on steam it was that badly done.

I'd suggest getting Bastion on PC and not buying From Dust at all since Ubisoft are a bunch of cocks and don't deserve anybody's support on any platform.

bastion on pc, it has the portal turrets in the game, also there is a better chance than xbox that extra content will be added.

As for Dust im unsure, ive heard rumours that the DRM has been removed (best check that out). My advice is to play Bastion first and buy Dust after youve completed it. If the PC version has been fixed than buy it for that platform, overwise choose xbla.

Personally, neither :p

The demos for both these games just did nothing for me.

If i had no choice in the matter i'd take the PC on both simply because i dont own a 360, however if given the choice i wouldnt buy either because they dont interest me.

I don't own a console, never have, probably never will, I love PC gaming. Get From Dust on a console. It has always on DRM which I could get past if the game didn't control like shit and have no graphic options. Or better yet buy it on PC and then send a raft of complaints to the developers and the publishers, maybe they will get off their arses and patch it if enough people complain.
