Boxers when I'm being lazy, briefs when I'm doing stuff. When the boys have too much movement, it inevitably ends up really uncomfortable.
Much as I prefer being naked as much as possible, when I can't, boxers are usually what I go for.
There are Y-fronts and then there are briefs, old man Y-fronts are kind of hilarious but things like these, http://www.tqsmagazine.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/david-beckham-underwear.jpg are far from old man pants.
Boxers can be comfy but you still get tangled up in them sometimes, they disappear up the crack of your ass sometimes too. Spontaneous wedgies are a nuisance. Well designed briefs keep everything in order but shouldn't be to tight. I cant really vote, I do not wear Y-Fronts but I do not wear boxers either.

Y-fronts or just plain briefs, both on myself and other guys. Has to be the right kind of briefs + fabric though. I hate boxers, they don't offer enough support and get tangled up with my junk. Got to laugh at all the guys who think briefs are for little boys.
I wear the ones that look like boxers, but are tight like uhhh Y-Fronts? Never heard them called Y-Fronts.
So I guess what I like is called Boxer-briefs? I wear the more loose boxers around the house and sometimes when I sleep. I get pretty hot, so I like to have bare legs. So I guess that means I wear underwear over my underwear?
I like the tight underwear because I wear tight pants and loose boxers make it more uncomfertable for me.

I generally wear boxers out of habit, but technically the y-fronts are more comfortable.
There's a sort of breakover point for underwear comfort.
For little kids it basically doesn't matter
then for regular dudes it seems like the bit of extra space in boxers is more comfortable.....
then, once one reaches a certain point of having an abundance of junk hanging around down there, the "y-fronts" come back around to being more comfortable, because they keep all your junk under control and from hanging in the way.
You sort of reach the point of needing the underwear equivalent of cable management..... <_<
