I would like Yahtzee to review on Either Call Of Duty 4 or Crysis. Because of the high Score they have recieved and all the positive comments. Plus Mass Effect wasnt rated as good and im more into First Person Shooters that are multiplayer/singleplayer. Plus that will sort of decide which one i would choose from. But of course its up to Yahtzee on what he wants to review.

I don't mind anyone who boycotts the loyal-servant companies of EA, who churn out flavor-of-the-month games. But please keep in mind that VALVe publishes their games through EA, as surprising as it sounds.

i say, red steel for the wii, i know its been out for ages, but he needs to review it, and when it comes out, super smash bros brawl. also, possibly the new metroid for the wii, or assasins creed, i really wanna see him rip that apart.

So you're saying the EA that had a hand in say.... Ultima Online, is not the same EA that was working on BF2 to name one... or on Crysis? I'm confused.

I feel as though I ought to be able to associate a certain level of quality of games with certain companies. EA is an exception?

People need to stop talking about what games Yahtzee should review. Why?

1. He doesn't get a choice in what games he reviews.
2. The games that he reviews, he doesn't get to choose them.

I know those two reasons are actully the same reason, but I think some of you need this to be mentioned twice because it's clearly not sinking in. Did I mention that Yahtzee doesn't get to choose the games that he reviews?

I would have said Mass Effect, but after the Gamespot/Jeff Gerstmann debacle, I really want to see what sort of vitriol Yahtzee can spew at Kane & Lynch.

EA has game development studios exclusively under their name, just like Ubisoft.
But they also publish games for other studios, theres a difference between a publisher and a developer.

Theres no way to judge a game by its publisher.

I know that, i THINK everyone here does as well, I swear ive already metioned this about 4 times in this thread but I didnt start this thread as a "tell yahtzee what to do" thing! I just think its intresting to see what other gamers think they personally would enjoy to see yahtzee review, I would not want him to actually listen to us on this thread as really I get more enjoyment when the review supprises me, like the last one, no one mentioned the new F.E.A.R expantion on here and when it was reviewed and I loved it. It also intrested me to talk about how he went with that game and why as well as looking at why so many people wanted certain games to be reviewed. so while I know yahtzee dosent choose the games he reviews and I know the games he reviews arent choosen by him or however many diffrent ways you want to put it - personally it dosent affect this post for me because it is not the threads intention to change anything but to exchange and discuss differential opinions, which is what I thought forums where about.

p.s i explained this point twice to two people who also seemed a bit annoyed by this post and since that it appeared that everyone understood the notion above, im not trying to flame anyone by the way - just the little rant above is a bit angryier than normal to try and explain my point (sorry angry is probably the wrong word but I will shut up now.)

Mass Effect because I think he'd have fun pointing at its many flaws. Alien all-female bisexual, male-geek-masturbatory-material? Check. Impossibly proportioned females and complete lack of any women members of the "ugly" species? Check. Amnesiac AI dialogue(can't blame devs)? Check. Dialogue choices that AREN'T ACTUALLY CHOICES? Check. Difficulty valleys and mountains? Check. Elevators? Check.
Overall I expect he could have fun with it as RPG cliches are always funny.

How do you know this?

Maybe he do have some say, or the editors of The Escapist reads the forums. Which I do not think is to unlikely. And people shouldn't stop voicing their opinion just because those opinions doesn't change the world every time. Unless the opinion is written in a very rude or immature or way.

Also. Between Kane & Lynch being a bad game and the brouhaha with Jeff there is just, IMO, too much cynical comedic gold to be mind from this game to pass on the opportunity. Preferably next Wednesday! ;)

People also don't get a say in how global politics manifest. Should we all stop talking about it then? This is the ESCAPIST is it not? Heaven forfend we should indulge in fantasy, wild hypothesis and ESCAPISM at such a site.
Besides, like in global politics, I do believe that though everyone in power (Yahtzee and those fascist capitalist Escapist administrators) tell us they'll never listen, if there's a big enough movement for something they might just change their tune.

personally I would like to see him do a review on Hitman - Blood Money or Assassin's Creed.

Although I'll be happy with whatever game he does next.

The Travel Log was ok, but there was a void in my life that week b/c of it.

#1 Yahtzee isn't the only person at the escapist that reads these forums, and if you get enough requests it is very well possible that the viewers could sway their next review to something that they want to see.

#2 Sorry that you used your first post on your account to sound like a gigantic moron, but who is it that controls the movie industry? Is it the Directors? Is it the Producers? Is it the MPAA? Is it the Actors? NO it's the Fans. The fans are in control of everything, b/c there would not be another movie if there is no one willing to watch it.

So while we are not calling out the Escapist Magazine giving them an ultimatim, if you look closely enough, we are ultimately in control over whether their business goes under or succeeds. We are instead politely voting on a suggestion. And how do you know that this thread will do nothing? We may get somewhere b/c what it comes down to is viewers...keep them happy, and you will thrive.

Maybe I stated my point a bit harshly, but I just get sick of the constant whining about "why doesn't Yahtzee review game x" etc etc - especially the posts that insinuate that he's somehow irrelevant/losing his touch/crap/whatever because he didn't review some random poster's favourite game, when he doesn't even choose the games to review in the first place. If I were Yahtzee I'd be feeling pretty irritated by all the constant nagging. (His Super Paper Mario review in fact hints at exactly this.) You're lucky he reviews anything at all.

No his Super Paper Mario review states clearly that he's going to review it b/c he wants to review it. This is the exact opposite of your first post where you stated that he doesn't get to choose the games he reviews. So for the rest of the posters here, I recommend you take anything that this troll says with a big grain of salt.

Secondly your last statement, which I think you should be beaten with hammers for...I'm lucky? Fuck you dude, The Escapist is lucky that we find Yahtzee so funny otherwise the majority of us wouldn't even know about their magazine; i.e. the magazine would run out of money and go under. You failed to read my last post I guess where I said it was the fans that decide who lives and dies in the entertainment industry...good God you are thick.

That's ok, go ahead and report my post, it really doesn't matter to me. You report me because you can't come up with a clever enough of a retort. It's not like this is the only forum I spend my work-day on. So instead of being a man about it and coming back at me with why you think you are right, you hit the report button...to think I even wasted my time responding to your mindless dribble of a post to begin with...laughable.

Actually I didn't report your post. Someone else did that. Fair enough, we disagree, but at least I'm being civil.

And just so people don't think I'm just trolling... okay, so yes he did choose to review Super Paper Mario so I was wrong about that. But I'm sure that's the exception rather than the rule, clearly he has games that he is told to review and he has to review them, or at least it's suggested to him that he really ought to review them (see his Peggle review), and if you're being employed by someone to review games then it's generally a good idea to do what they say and review those games if you want to continue being employed in the future. And maybe I'm wrong about that too and he handpicked every single game himself. I'm still quite sure that he wouldn't appreciate being hassled about it. In the Super Paper Mario review, he's clearly being a bit narky when he says regarding his choice of game "if you have a problem with that you can put your fingers in your ears and pretend I'm reviewing Clive Barker's Jehrico or something" (keeping in mind that the Super Paper Mario review was done before he reviewed Clive Barker's Jehrico). Sure he may be amping it a little for comic effect, but I really don't think it's a good idea to irritate the poor guy with constant requests given that he's obviously pretty flat out as it is with the workload (see F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate review). So my suggestion is - he does a great job, so maybe let's not be selfish and hassle the poor guy out so much about what we'd like to see, and just enjoy Zero Punctuation for what it is. Because if we harrass him TOO much, he might just stop doing it for good. That's the central theme which is underlying my posts. Got a problem with that? Fine. No need to be abusive about it, though.

If I was Yahtzee I would be happy that my work was appreciated this much. But if I for some reason didn't like people talking about it i could easily ignore a forum thread. But however I wouldn't want a flood of abusive emails, because they are not as easily ignored and more personal (IMO). But he still publish his e-mail address in big letter after every review, so I guess he isn't that bothered about it.

again it seems the thread I started is interpreted as a direct request to yahtzee, i wont go over what ive said about 3 times now, but im not bothered what is reviewed by him and ive enjoyed all of his work alot of times because i havent expected it to be on what it is on....I just think its good to discuss with other fans of him what they like, and as it turns out theres very differntial opinions on the subject - and thats good, its a debate. but im not emailing yahtzee asking him to review somthing or telling him what to do! i dont personally view this as harassing him, its just discusion. like how people talk about music or what they would like to see in a new film and why. if you or he or anyone is bothered by a friendly talk and conveying of opinion fine...you dont have to read this thread, and it was never intended as advice or critisim anyway.
