Poll: Yay or Nay on Assassin Creed's Desmond.

Damn you guys are hateful...as in Darth Vader "Dark side has all the cookies" kind of hateful. (No offense)

For me, I like Desmond. I have always liked him from the first Assassins Creed to the latest third edition. I mean I do feel sorry for him and I think it's kind of cool that he's like Adam Sandler except better and a bit cooler.

I don't know, I like how he's the center plot character as well as the past assassins. I would feel that Assassins Creed would lose some of its charm if it got rid of the present timeline story.

Frankly I think 5 games is enough for Desmond. SO I say make a new present day assassin...and give him a better story line!

Coming from someone who recently finished ACIII, I think they really were able to give him more of a personality this time around. The past few games he was a cardboard box cutout but this time he was more outspoken and was human. He was growing on to me!

It doesn't really matter anymore since Desmond dies in the most anticlimactic way at the end of ACIII.

Desmond is what ties the story together and makes it unique. Without him, the Assassin's Creed games would just be completely unrelated titles about historical assassins. The meta-plot is great.

I'm glad somebody said this! Without Desmond and the present day(-ish!) events, there wouldn't be any story to tie any of the ancestors together, so no real "series" of games.

Actually, Ezio and Altair are tied together pretty well without Desmond. I'd be willing to say that Desmond is irrelevant.

I haven't played 3 so I can't comment on that.
