Porn all the way. Sex is a normal thing. Torture and Murder...well, not so much.

Honestly, I'm not sure. Saw would definitely be traumatising, so I wouldn't want them to watch that, but porn? Children will copy whatever they think is mature or cool or gets them attention, so porn would risk them... "trying to act it out later", for want of a better way to put it.

Porn. And I wouldn't answer a single question afterwards :]

Also, why is sex taboo? We are fucking evolved monkeys! We are not above following our instincts and biological impulses, so why do we act like we are?

Depends on the age of the child - the younger they are the more likely it'd be that I'd have them watch Saw. Because the main reason kids fear things? It's because they see adults acting like they should be afraid.

Porn, only because I know how to show them 'gore' in a more subtle way.
[sub]Porn is not sex by the way![/sub]

I'm just saying that I was unfortunate enough for myself to be influenced by such material.

I would go with porn. In the end it's just sex and it would help the kids understand this is how babies are done and that they shouldn't do that until they're much much older (no teen pregnancies etc) Sex education should start from an early age, me thinks.

I'm turning 20 this year and I still wouldn't wanna watch Saw. I think if I showed Saw to a young child it could be quite traumatic... I know I wish I hadn't watched some horror movies when I was a kid because I still freak out from them.

Because people are idiots.

If they're six, there's not much they could do even if they wanted to, if they're 12, they've probably seen more porn that you.

Kids are way, way, way more resilient than people make out. Everyone stupidly forgets what it was like when they were a kid. I'm sure everyone reading this has been exposed to horror movies and porn at one point, and is still just fine. Besides, if you buy the argument that sex and violence on TV influences young minds in a negative way and kids should be sheltered from it, then you must also buy the argument that computer games train kids to be murderers, because it's basically the same argument, and we all know how false that particular argument is now, don't we.
This.

Although I would still go for porn if not because I would rather have my child (possibly) grossed out than being scared.

Pr0n, because that spares me the sexual education talk.
See children? Common sense, two birds with one overly sexual stone.
Except for the problem of porn sex not being like real sex for 99% of people. Real sex has hair getting in the way, sweat, farts, awkward positions, etc. to deal with. Sure, it is loads of fun, but sex in porn is for the viewer's enjoyment, not the participants'.

I'm 35, and I still wouldn't watch Saw. I enjoy a good horror film, but I think "torture porn" films are just plain sick, and that there is something wrong with the people who make them or enjoy them.

I personally don't think sex should be repressed as such, but I think society would have taken a turn for the worse if sex was legal on say; the bus, while driving a car, in the middle of the street, on top of the groceries you were going to buy...
Yeah, even though it would be hilarious if you think about it.
