Hi Friends!

It's time for another poll by yours truly. I was thinking just today who would I rather have as my personal adviser, Yoda or Spock (and why please)? I really didn't think much about it until a colleague and myself got into a heated debate, so I'd like to see what you all think!

I can't wait to see! (I have a personal bet with my colleague, hehe)

PEACE!

Joe: totally yoda
Joe: he could teach me how to lift x-wings
Joe: however, if it's a financial planner we're talking about, i'm going with the romulan
Joe's Buddy: see....it's a hard decision
Joe: basically, spock is the better choice
Joe's Buddy: I disagree
Joe's Buddy: I think Yoda has more wisdom
Joe's Buddy: which can take you further in life
Joe: yeah, but yoda's way too religious to give objective advice
Joe: like, take the Third Abomination
Joe: anakin was pretty much saying, "Yoda, i love a chick. please help me through this."
Joe: and all yoda could do was fall back on the "no love" shit
Joe: so really, yoda is the catholic church pre Vatican II
Joe: whereas spock's entire people value reason over everything else
Voted spock.

I would say that in a fight Yoda wouldn't even have to get out his lightsaber of fast-moving hover-thingy.
Otherwise I still like Yoda more as Spock is... I dunno, I just don't like him much.
And is (Star Wars concept/character/franchise) vs. (something else) going to be your staple from now on? Just wondering.

Lets see - one could rewire a warp drive in his sleep, while the other couldn't put a sentence together. I wonder which one would be a better adviser... :)

Spock, Yoda will just make me live in his hobo shanty out in the swamp. Besides, I just got done mastering the "Spock Salute". I'm not throwing that all away.

Anton you heathen! How can you proudly bear that logo and deny your true advisor in all things important:

Leela

(or failing that, Durandel ;D)

yoda for the sole reason of me being a slow learner of the force. I don't like the idea of being choked for not mastering the art of lifting things

edit - apparently i thought it said vader, but my intuitions tell me that leonard nemoy is also a psycho and would choke you any chance he got, so my opinion still stands

Nope, I promise something else entirely next week. This was actually brought up in the office due to a discussion of the SW v ST thread. So...I PROMISE next weeks poll with have nothing to do with SW, ST or sci-fi in general.

i gotta go with yoda, do to his 900 some odd years of experience... and if i ever got into a fight a flying, saber wielding, green midget would probably help out a good bit.

Spock.

If I wanted unreasonable, semi-witty, disillusional and vague clues about what to do next instead of good old 'outside view' logic, then I'll call on Yoda.

Otherwise, Spock all the way.

Psh. Spock has the logical capacity of a brick latrine. Perhaps solidly built in concept but in reality housing little more than a whole lot of... Well, you know. Yoda of course has no experience as an expert adviser and would probably be better suited for the task of spiritual guru or something of the sort, but he does at least stand on a set of principles that have some merit.

But then, maybe just the Empire Strikes Back version. I'm not so sure about how useful he would have been if we were referring to the prequel incarnation, anal retentive jerk that he often was.

I'm going with Yoda. The dude has been around for so long, he must have learned something, Force skills or not. Plus, if he can use the Force, hopefully he can advise me on my stocks for that day.
