Hmmmm I think I'd probably take the benevolent dictators approach to things. It always pays to have happy - not-lobotomized - peasants and minions living a life of happy ignorance to the world around them.

I'd also take the Brain in the jar approach as well. Float back in my 'Orwellian' crib pulling the strings from behind the facade of governments and corporations.
