I just recently started dating this girl and i've really taken a shine to her, and she's taken a shine to me as well, so at this point it seems that sex is inevitable.

I am asking this because i got curious about what people think after a talk i had with a female friend about the subject, she thought that it was the womans job to bring them and i thought it was the mans job.

My question for you, The sexually active part of The Escapist is as follows:

Who's responsibility is it to bring a condom?

Is it the Man who should bring it?
This is from what i know the most popular thought about the subject, that it's the guys obligation to bring condoms if a sexual act is probable, because it is a part of him that its going to cover.

Is it the Woman who should bring it?
Sure, it's the woman who can suffer the biggest side-effect from sex (pregnancy), but many people still believe that it's the womans obligation to bring them seeing as it is her choice if the sexual act will happen or not.

Is it Both who should bring it?
This makes very much sense, seeing as both partners will be a part of the act itself, but from what i know not alot of people think that both should have the responsibility for being protected.

What are your thought on the subject of Condoms?

I know I'm responsible if I don't have the condoms (man, btw). It's why I'm the one rushing into the pub toilets at 2 in morning, not her. That's just the way it is.

In an ideal world both sexes would take responsibility, but I wouldn't expect a woman to have some. It goes without saying that I should.

Definitely both. One should not have more responsibility concerning the act then others, and as such things should be shared.
This is not to say that guys should have a morning-after pill on them at all times; That could be an interesting concept though.

Well in my case, whoever's giving it I believe should bring the condoms. But I always carry a spare in my wallet, so it's usually okay.

Well. Its the man who uses (Edit: I first had a typo that said "sues". Intriquing) it. So I would kinda say the man. Although I can agree with that it might be her responsibility too. But if she gets pregnand. It should be boths problem! Wich would say that both should bring.

But I still say man, though. It's just a common thing for a dude to have condoms in his wallet. It's not as common for a girl to do that. As far as I've seen.

But there you see, kids! Just cut the whole thing out, and you'll have nothing to worry about any more. It's easy. You should try it =D

Both, for the sole reason that if your expecting them to bring some and they expect you to bring some, chances are that no-one has brought some.

And that leads to a dull night for both of you.

Anyone heard of the injection for men that acts as a contraceptive? Think I might get it to be honest.

What a romantic way of putting things.

If you're anticipating sex then it's both parties responsability, it's both people's choice as to whether it happens (come on, give us men some credit) so they should both be prepared.

If you assume it's your responsability and always take them (condoms that is), you can't go far wrong.

Ouch?

Anyway, if both take responsibility and buy some, you are definatly guaranteed great success.

I'd vote man - The man takes the condom, while the woman takes the pill. Seems like a fair way of doing it.

Cue self-depracating remark about being on the internet and not having sex.

Have one kept in your wallet, for all occasions.
Problem with that is that, after enough time, your body heat can render the condom ineffective. I think you would have to be carrying it for around 2 months, but still.
